This illustrates just how by simply wearing a helmet many riders lives can be saved and their injuries can be prevented altogether. So many injuries can be prevented with helmets, yet many rider chose not to wear them, helmets need to be worn when riding. Miss Lara DeWees father, Mr. Steve DeWees stated, “You can survive broken bones, recover from an amputation, but a head injury…that would take a miracle.” If Miss Lara DeWees was wearing a helmet the outcome of her fall could have been changed, and she could have been saved from head injuries.
