Building your own computer comes with lots of challenges. First off in order to build your own computer you need to track down all the parts you need/want for your build. This can be a lot more challenging than it sounds. For a lot of people simply finding the most readily available or cheapest parts may be the “go to” option, but if you are building your pc for more than just browsing the web there is more to it.
Depending on what your pc will be used for you might find more need in some pricier parts. For example if you want to run huge games on full settings you might want to look into a high quality cpu and video card. For certain games lots of RAM might be needed also. Hopefully it wouldn’t happen but there is a chance that when you purchase that you put it into your build and it is defective straight from the factory. Not a huge chance but there still is that slight possibility. When you buy a built computer from the store they most likely come with a minimum of a 1 year warranty. When building your own computer you don’t get that, although some parts may come with their own separate warranty. Another risk of building your own pc you need to be careful for is bending pins. A lot of components will come with pins on them and you need to be very careful not to bend them. If bent it’s possible that the part may not fit anymore or the pin may completely bend off. Installing the software on your newly built pc should seem fairly easy but it’s possible when doing so that your hard drive may become corrupt. If this were to happen you would have to order a new drive and wait for it to come in delaying the entire process.
One risk involved in buying a computer could be that you read all the specs and did your research but you buy it and get it all set up then realize it doesn’t have enough power for what you want. So basically you just spend however much money on something that doesn’t even do what you want it to do properly. Maybe you bought a computer and were planning on upgrading its ram or maybe the processor. So you get home and get it open but realize for some reason that the extra parts you bought won’t fit or aren’t compatible with the pc you have just
