What's the problem in todays education? Is it the homework, the teachers, the classrooms? The problem actually isn't any of these; it actually is the lack of motivation, and grit in the students. Education and knowledge will always be expanding; and I agree with Duckworth that students need a better approach of learning from a motivational, and psychological view point. Kids and students involved in hard and rough situations were successful because of one attribute, and that was grit. Many high schoolers drop out every year because they lack the grit to keep going. Much is not known about building grit, except for one idea created at Stanford University by Dr.Dweck called "growth mindset." The belief that learning isn't fixed and it can change with your effort. In this case we must expand our horizons and discover more ways to build grit in this generation and the future.
