Societies fall apart all the time in many ways. There are only a couple ways societies fall apart over and over again. Those reasons are corrupt leadership, in and a lot of poverty, and a lot of wars. We all know societies fall apart and they cause riots and all that, but there are three main reasonss why societies fall. The main reasons happen everywhere in the world. Societies always fall apart so if you know the main reasons you could stop societies fall apart.
My first reason is that corrupt leaders make societies fall apart. An example is in North Korea. The North Korea's leader got the country into billions of dollars in debt causing the people of Ukraine to riot and rebel. My text evidence is “Chang Song-thaek was dramatically removed from a Communist Party session by armed guards earlier this week.He was accused of forming factions against the state, corruption and "depraved" acts such as womanizing and drug abuse.”North Korea: 'International concern' for stability, This is one reason why societies fall apart due to corrupt leaders. Also in Ukraine the leader go them in a lot of dollars in debt which caused the people of Ukraine to hate him and have protests to kick him out. “Well he decided that he would just leave and now the country has no ruler causing riots and fights to occur. Euro Maidan protest movement against the government. The conflict escalated rapidly, leading to the downfall of the government of President Viktor Yanukovych and the setting up of a new government to replace it within a few days. Yanukovych fled to Russia, and is wanted in Ukraine for the killing of protesters. The conflict continued with the 2014 Crimean crisis when Russian forces seized control of the Crimea region.” This is from wik...

...child) For the 1.9 billion children from the developing world, there are:
640 million without adequate shelter (1 in 3)
400 million with no access to safe water (1 in 5)
270 million with no access to health services (1 in 7)
121 million 1 in 12 people without an education.
Societies fell apart for many reasons, but most societies only fall apart due to three main reasons. Those main reason are People not having good shelter and education, these causes make people die and cause a bad society. Secondly, losing wars causes the country to not only lose millions of people, but also causing their country to go into debt. Finally societies fall apart due to corrupt leaders like North Korea, Ukraine and ancient Rome. All these examples have occurred and we still occurring today. The only way of keeping a society strong is not repeating history of how societies fell.
While it takes a lot to build up a society, it doesn’t take nearly as much for it crash and burn. One simple flaw can weaken it, and three added together will ruin the whole thing. Even the greatest societies can fall as the result of political corruption, war, and social injustice. These three have negatively affected Rome, Greece, Uganda, and even the fictional society in Matched by Ally Condie.
As you can see there are many reason why a society can fail or get destroyed and it can perpetuate destruction of a society also. When people don’t question authority and when they are ignorant or naive it can lead to the destruction of a society as seen through the two texts of Night and Fahrenheit 451 we can see that it is clearly evident that the destruction of a society is clearly happening if these to are evident.
Society can be very diminishing and very hurtful. I say hurtful by the way many people criticize one another by the way we walk, talk, and act with others or even alone. As we grow older we fall into different categories such as community, religion, and the list goes on. In between all that there is certain norms and values to follow. There are certain types of norms and values we have to follow in our community to not get harassed. First, before I committed a norm violation and making an observation I had to be able to understand what values, norms, folkways, sanctions, and mores were. “Values are ideas of what is desirable in life. Values underlie our preferences, guide our choices, and indicate what we hold worthwhile in life” (Henslin,
A society is defined as a collection of people in a given area, ranging from large communities to small communities. Every society must be able to sustain itself, whether through interactions with other societies or through its own methods. In the movie The Village, directed by M. Night Shyamalan, a small community of less than a hundred live detached from the rest of the world. In this community, rules and roles are imposed on the villagers in order to maintain order and balance. This community constitutes a self sustained society that appears to be perfect at a glance. Shyamalan’s goal in creating such a society is to make the point that all societies must have both roles and rules in place in order to function properly. His goal can be seen
When mankind started to build a community, maintaining orderliness and balance also came with it. The citizens are trying to make a utopia or a perfect society for them to live in. Of course, as the years passed, it has come to their senses that there has to be someone who can lead the society to greatness. That 's the time they 've started to appoint leaders that are capable of maintaining the very stronghold of the society. These leaders have the power to control their society to their will. Unfortunately, some of these leaders became deprived of power which blinded them that instead of making a utopia, they 've made a dystopian society that drastically affected their citizens. Similar to the novel, The Giver by Lois Lowry. Jonas, the protagonist in the novel did not know the state of the society he lives in
...downfall.Mostly societies fall due to whoever is leading them, like in Athens they were told to retreat inside of the walls which lead to an outbreak that killed ⅓ of the city’s population.Although trying to make a “perfect” society never ends up working out, we can learn from our mistakes and always try to make ours better. As I once said, “It is not possible to create a perfect society for imperfect beings.”
society is not the only one and also it is not the best but just different from
society has failed, but that it evidently has caused an extermination of the very civilization in which it
The example of societal collapse in which I will be making reference to throughout this essay is the Maya civilization. The Maya civilization is, “probably the best known of all early American civilizations.” (Fagan, 1995) It was at its strongest point between AD 300 AND 900. Around AD 900 was the time of its collapse. This civilization was developed in a densely, tropical forest on either highlands or lowlands. Today to visit a Mayan site, people would go to the modern Mexican state, capital city of Merida. This site was once home to the “New World's most advanced Native American civilization before European arrival.” (Diamond, 2009) Over the years there has been many predictions on what had caused the Maya civilization to collapse. At the moment the most recent cause that geographers and scientists have come up with is that climate change may have had a major impact on this collapse. It is said that the rainfall received during the creation of the civilization was a key factor in the continuity of life for the Mayans. This and the addition of societal factors such as religious beliefs, ethnicity and education all had an affect on their way of life, an effect on their societal well-being. Art and architecture that was formed by the Mayans is the foundation for the archaeologists work today. They look at these features and the ruins of the buildings created to depict the kind of lifestyle they lived. Looking at the art and architecture of a specific civilization or community of the past is just one way that can help to inform future adaptations. Another way in which the Europeans received knowledge on the collapse was that they sent out geographers and researchers not long after the collapse to gather as much data and information ...
A famous philosopher named Aristotle once said, "He who is unable to live in a society, or who has no need because he is sufficient for himself, must be either a beast or a god" (Moncur ). Ever since the first humans, people have sought to live and grow where other people are. This organization of people living together as a community is called a society. For the members of it, society furnishes protection, continuity, security and identity. Without a society to be a part of, man is nothing. Therefore, if a man comes into conflict with his society, he must either accept these differences or be destroyed. This nightmare comes to life in Chinua Achebe's novel Things Fall Apart, when the main character, Okonkwo, clashes with his society's beliefs. The conflict that exists between Okonkwo and his society is what ultimately leads him to his downfall.
The first reason why great societies fall is because of the wars that they fought. In When the U.S. went to Iraq, they had weapons of mass destruction that we had to get, or else the whole world could have been gone, or be in a WWIII. They fought back each killing thousands of soldiers. When we found the weapons of mass destruction, we then killed their leader Saddam Hussein. In the article, it states that “ The U.N. special representative in Iraq [Sergio Vieira de Mello] and at least 16 others died Tuesday in a bomb explosion that ripped through the organization’s headquarters in Baghdad.” ( http://thinkprogress.org/report/iraq-timeline/# by: ThinkProgress) This was one big reason why we went back to Iraq. We had to stop a problem. A problem that can be very dangerous and tough to get out of. ancient Greece, Sparta was very good and well trained at war, Which helped them conquer some areas. After long journeys took toll on their soldiers, which took caution to the city of Sparta. One army surrounded the whole valley, trapping Sparta and tearing it to the ground. Germany during WWII was fighting many wars to conq...
Societies are widely portrayed across literature as groups of people living together in an organized community while sharing a similar culture. However, not all societies have developed properly to be classified as civilized. A civilized society is one that has been brought to a stage of social, cultural, and moral development, causing it to be considered more advanced. In the novel, Things Fall Apart, author Chinua Achebe depicts the Ibo society as civilized through their egwugwu justice system, worshipping of a spiritual Oracle, and patriarchal dominance.
Even though it takes many aspects for a society to fall, a very large part of the downfall is corrupt leaders, or a corrupt government. Corrupt leaders, such as Adolf Hitler, could lead to the downfall in certain communities.
Order and stability are the two themes that societies or groups of people desire to achieve. No matter whether people are being hurt or certain types of people are negatively affected, society wants to keeps itself how it is. Change, whether good or bad, is a force that is dreaded by groups of people. Change destroys order and brings about new ideas and practices that a society will have to learn and adapt to. However, bringing about that change is a very difficult task. Masses of similar people, including cultures, will try their best to resist change and eliminate its source. Unconsciously, individual people will also turn away from any initial change or deviance. However, when the source of that change becomes powerful enough, nothing will
The factors that lead to the “collapse” of civilizations are almost directly related to those that created it. Archaeologists characterize collapse by a number of elements, some of which we have evidence for, others we do not. Most archaeologists are unsure of exactly what caused the decline of most civilizations in the ancient world, yet there are many clues to some of the events that could have contributed. The collapse of the ancient Roman Empire, the Mesoamerican Mayan, and the Egyptian cultures will be discussed in the following paragraphs, with a focus on the uniqueness of each.
