If you have ever seen a Red Panda at the zoo, then you know they are cute animals but, did you know that they are also endangered? Red Pandas are endangered badly. Red pandas are endangered because of accidental trapping and illegal trading. That has caused the population of red pandas to decrease to around 10,000 pandas in all! Red Pandas live in the mountains of Nepal and northern Myanmar and in Central China. Did you know Red Pandas also have been endangered for the last 50 years. In 1996, the Red Panda population became endangered. Red pandas were noticed because they are cute. WWF was officiated with the start of it. Nature, it is everywhere, everyone uses it. Quite often, however, people abuse it, such as with humans’ impact on grizzly bears. Grizzly bears are important to the environment because they have many useful purposes for the environment: “they provide an “umbrella” for the environment because they require such large home ranges.” (savethegreatbear.org/CAD/Grizzly.htm) The Grizzly Bear is extremely vulnerable to changes in its habitat and food cycle. This allows humans to detect small changes in the environment, just by watching this amazing species. The Government of Canada needs to try harder to stop the poaching of grizzly bears in Canada.
The Giant Panda (Ailuropoda melanoleuca) is a beloved creature known to the world. However, it is also a creature that is critically endangered and faces extinction. As human advancements obliterate the habitats and influence the lifestyle of the Giant Panda, research is conducted to uncover the cause of the Giant Panda’s current predicament and to improve the methods of conservation to save the Giant Panda. Information gained by researching the Giant Panda and its behaviors would help scientists and conservationists discover just what is hurting the Giant Panda, and what people can do to stop the Giant Panda’s population from decreasing.
Unfortunately, besides the animal being such a stately and scientifically contributing creature, it has been endangered by various factors.
The giant panda is a very iconic and well known symbol in many countries today. Unfortunately these unique black and white creatures are one of the most endangered species in the world. These pandas are termed to be “giant” due to the fact that they can grow to be up to 5 feet in height and 300 pounds in weight (Bradford, 2014). The majority of the giant panda population can be found in central china. Many of the pandas survive in this area due to the wet bamboo forest environment. However, the population is still very limited in size. As of 2014 the giant panda population only consisted of 1,864 pandas (World Wide Fund for Nature, 2016). In order to further the growth and survival of these organisms, many conservation efforts must be made.
...2100 if man continue on their harmful rampage. At the present time, there are 3,947 animals critically endangered and 5,766 endangered. The percentages of animals in danger of extinction are 41% of amphibian species, 33% of reef-building corals, 30% of conifers, 25% of mammals, and 13% of birds. Educator is the country with the highest endangered animals, with an insane 2,211.
There used to be a time when zoos used to be full of animals. A time when extinction was not a problem. That was the past. Today, zoos all around the world are missing many animals such as the African elephant or the dodo bird. All of these wonderful animals became extinct because we were careless enough to let them all die. World Wildlife Fund (WWF) is an organization that is trying to prevent extinction from happening. WWF is an environmental organization dedicated to “protecting the world’s wildlife and wetlands” ("World Wildlife Fund"). It is one of the largest private supported conservation organizations in the world, with support from one million members in just the United States. WWF was formed on September 11, 1961 in Morges, Switzerland by Sir Peter Scott. It originally worked by fundraising and providing grants to existing non-governmental organizations. As more resources became available, its operations expanded into other areas such as the preservation of biological diversity. This organization is mostly volunteer-led. Volunteers of all ages are welcome at WWF, whether it is a student looking for volunteer opportunities or an adult looking to help animals. WWF also offers internships for college students who are looking to gain experience for their jobs. Not only does WWF help protect the environment, it also helps protect endangered species and spaces like national parks. WWF saves the animals through varieties of programs, including “education, habitat conservation and increasing the capacity of local governments and people within the endangered animals’ home” ("World Wildlife Fund"). WWF has gained most of its publicity from periodic fundraisers in which volunteers go from door to door asking people to support WWF ...

So what is an endangered species? What is an extinct species? What has happened to cause them to become endangered or extinct? What needs to be done in order to save the endangered species from becoming extinct? Can anything be done to save them? The answer to most of these questions is not known by everyone. With all the attention that this subject gets from the government or groups that fight for the environment, it gets the same amount of disregard from the public. Many people want to help or donate but very few of those actually follow through. This is a very important subject that needs to be taken serious by the public. It needs their full attention because they are the ones that can truly make a change. People really don’t understand the concept of extinction. If somethi...
Obviously, every time an animal dies, the impact could be tremendous. However if the red panda becomes extinct, we would be losing help in the terms of preventing global warming. According to Natasha Freya, she stated that red pandas are very important to the environment because they contribute to clean air and water for over 500 million people. This is because they help maintain a healthy and clean forest. Red Pandas live in bamboo and hollow trees with an average temperature of 10 to 25 degrees Celsius. The forests that the panda’s habitat is in ranges from Nepal to southwest China. If these forests are maintained (by the red panda) and function properly, then we can guarantee a healthy life for the people, animals, and plants of South Asia. Secondly, The Red Panda has a unique biology. The Red Panda is the only species of its kind in the world. Their behavior is unique and they are specialists in their environment. They also have no close living relatives, ultimately making them more unique than most animals! They also play a big role in the food chain. If Red Pandas were to become extinct, the animal’s predators wouldn't have enough of its prey to eat. Also their extinction would disrupt the whole food chain and more animals would die. These Pandas eat insects, bamboo, fruit, eggs, leaves, and plants so therefore, Red Pandas control the growth and population of these animals and species. Red Pandas play a very important role in the ecosystem and it would be a very unfortunate loss if they became extinct.
Most Americans have been to a zoo or aquarium at some point in their lives. They spend the whole day outside with their friends and family looking at all the animals from all over the world. For most people, zoos are the only way they will ever be able to see these amazing animals in person. However one animal that lives in zoos across the country may not be there in a couple years.
In the world today there are about five thousand endangered species. Around one specie dies out every year. Some animals become endangered because people are killing them for their horns, as in the case of the Black Rhino of Africa. Others become extinct because pesticides are put on the food we eat, causing the animals that eat the insects off the plant to become contaminated, which causes their predators to become contaminated, which often affects the shell of that organism?s egg. Here is a list of the endangered species, 91 endangered birds, 76 endangered mammals, 36 endangered reptiles, 21 endangered amphibians, 115 endangered fish, 70 endangered clams, 35 endangered snails, 44 endangered insects, 12 endangered arachnids, 21 endangered crustaceans, 594 endangered flowering plants.
In our world today we have approximately 26,021 endangered species. Endangered species are organisms that may possible become extinct. The term 'endangered species' refers to all species that fits this description. However some conservation biologists and scientists normally use the term ‘endangered species’ to refer to species that are put on the IUCN(International Union for Conservation of Nature)Red List. Many factors can be looked at when considering the conservation status of a species. Factors such as human threats or environmental threats can cause a species to become endangered.
Currently, Giant Pandas are highly endangered with only 1,600 living freely in the wild and roughly 300 living in zoos or breeding centers. This low number of existing pandas means the species has a relatively high risk of becoming extinct. The pandas reside mostly in China around the basin area of Yangtze, which poses a major problem, because this area is currently one of China’s most thriving regions with constant destruction and new development. Therefore, the bears are pushed into small areas without the living conditions they are accustomed to. The pandas are continuously fighting for their lives in result of habitat loss, low reproduction rate, food shortage, and poaching.
