A Christmas Carol The christmases that scrooge experiences during A Christmas Carol impact him both positively and negatively ultimately making him a better man. In Scrooge's present he is not a very nice person. When in his past he sees how happy he is when he was a kid. After every visit he is so much kinder and knows more than he did in the present. This his how Scrooge's christmases impacted him good and bad. To begin with, scrooge is represented as a bitter, lonely, and greedy man on the first christmas in A Christmas Carol. In stave one it is obvious that he is lonely. This happens when his nephew comes in and he refuses the invite to his nephew's party. While refusing the invite he says that, “every man with christmas on his lips should be boiled with his own pudding and buried with a stake of holly through their heart.” Scrooge is greedy about his life compared to other lives such as bob cratchit. He only lets bob have a single candle to warm himself and his hands. You can compare this bitter man to ignorance and want from the ghost of christmas present. Moments of joy in scrooge's life would be when he worked at Fezziwig's. Belle was the most beautiful woman to scrooge. He made a promise to marry belle. But when he was late to his date belle says, “It matters little...to your. very little. A golden idol has displaced me.” scrooge feels sorrow in this, and he feels regret. When he feels regret it makes him feel stupid. He feels sorrow and happiness when he is alone is his school house and fan comes to get him and bring him home. He felt lonely then he felt happy because his dad had changed. This is how feeling joy and sorrow can help
