Many people feel the assassination of Pablo Escobar was justified because he was responsible for 90% of the U.S. cocaine imports in the late 80’s and early 90’s. On the other hand, some feel differently because of his philanthropy and assistance he gave to the Colombian community. Personally, I feel the capture and subsequent killing of Pablo Escobar was punishment for the thousands of lives forever changed by his role in drug trafficking all over the world.

Pablo Escobar is personally responsible for the killing of approximately 3,000 people in his lifetime. The killings were ruthless and unjust and were meant to frighten anyone who may oppose him. He generally killed to get ahead in the drug business and most reported killings were between rival drug kingpins. Escobar brought in more than two billion dollars illegally a year and probably could have made more if he did not run for a spot in the Colombian Government. Pablo Escobar was elected into the Colombian Government but was soon removed due to a Colombian Government official finding out he was a Drug Kingpin, and he paid off almost every official to get a spot in the Senate.

Pablo grew up poor and lived in a ghetto where his mom. She couldn’t even afford for him to get a proper education. So he grew up in the streets like most of the kids from his village.
