A person’s greatest power is being able to self heal and redeem themselves. Although redemption can be tricky, nothing is impossible. A perfect example of this would be the powerful & haunting novel, “The Kite Runner” by Khaled Hosseini. Based on Hosseini’s novel, we can redeem ourselves from past silences with/through courage & self-reflection, and doing so will ultimately lead to purification. Courage is a tricky thing. Courage can be dangerous. Courage can be a savior. Courage can be many things, but when used properly it can be a true pathway to redemption. Another example of self-reflection is inner deep self-realization when you are conscious and aware that things are in everyone’s power and things are changing. For example, Amir, one night while looking at a picture, self reflects on his past and realizes that his usual pool of guilt and self-punishment is no longer there. He declares, “Then I realized something. That last thought had brought no sting with it, I wondered if that was how forgiveness huddled.” (359). This goes to show that, his realization of his constant self reflecting on his past & now that guilt is gone shows that purification is possible. Furthermore, this goes to show that it is all up to self-reflecting on either past or present can help your
