Censorship in Fahrenheit 451 Censorship in society can be a very dangerous thing if it gets out of control. It is prevalent that in the book Fahrenheit 451, by Ray Bradbury, the government has too much control over the people. Saying this, the government has taken away many essential elements of society. The government in Fahrenheit 451 tells people what to think and believe so they cannot think or believe on their own. Because the government wants to diminish individuality, citizens like Guy Montag cannot live a regular, content, or sane life. On the way back home from work, Montag meets a very insightful girl named Clarisse McClellan. She is the one who inspires him to break through the barriers of conformity and become an individual.
