How Industrial Revolution Made Life Easier
It would just be unbearable to think that life would be better without the Industrial Revolution. All the inventions that were invented back then are used all the time. The three inventions which are the camera, the light bulb and the locomotive have greatly changed society. Without the light bulb, you couldn’t see at night, you wouldn’t be able to take pictures of anything for memories if the camera wasn’t invented and without the train there would be one less easier way to travel.
Without the light bulb, you couldn’t see at night. Thomas Edison invented the light bulb mainly to make it for home use. The light bulb was made to create light that would last for a long time and that could be used anywhere. In today’s society, people use the bulbs in their homes to light up their whole house including their fridge. It just makes it easier to see anywhere whenever it’s the daytime or night time. “Edison's eventual achievement was inventing not just an incandescent electric light, but also an electric lighting system that contained all the elements necessary to make the incandescent light practical, safe, and economical.” Before it was created, human beings had to use fire and now you’re able to just turn the light switch on and you automatically have whatever lighted.
You wouldn’t be able to take pictures of anything for memories if the camera wasn’t invented. Louis Daguerre invented the first camera just to capture things for memory. The camera was invented to capture a picture of anything you wanted to save as a memory. In today’s world, people use the camera during many special occasions to remember that specific day. It helps a lot because so many people can enjoy or see what an occasion was like even if they weren’t there by looking at the pictures. “The daguerreotype, aptly called a ‘mirror with a memory’, was an amazing development, and one cannot but marvel at the intricacy of the detail.” Before it was made, people didn’t really struggle without since they didn’t even use anything that could capture scenes.
Without the train there would one less easier way to travel. George Stephenson first attempted to create the first locomotive since others who tried failed. The locomotive was invented to try and succeed in an invention but lead to more better things.
The Harvard Center of Risk Analysis preformed a study, they studied the road and people who text while they drive. Results show that texting behind the wheel causes 330,000 injuries and 2,600 deaths a year. People who talk or text on the phone are just as impaired or even more impaired as a drunk driver. A study was performed at the University of Utah, it shows that the participants crashed when they were texting while driving but when they were intoxicated, they did not crash. This shows that texting while driving takes your focus off of the road and into the conversation you are having on the phone. Also, the University of Utah has proven that hand free devices do not make driving any safer. But, driving with passengers and talking to them makes drivers safer. Passengers help inform drivers of possible risks on the
The light bulb is the way we see in the dark, the way we find our way, the way we know when to go at a stoplight. How did Thomas Edison achieve this invention? Knowledge. Knowledge of electricity and the needs of those around him. In The Great Gatsby, Daisy Buchanan claims that she wants her daughter to be “a beautiful little fool.” In other words Daisy is saying that ignorance is bliss. Some others believe that knowledge is power. The advancement from candles to light bulbs changed the culture entirely. People could easily do the work they needed to after sunset, and it even led to more inventions. We need knowledge to advance, and for this reason powerful knowledge is more valid than blissful ignorance.
The Industrial revolution was a turning point for the earth and humans, every aspect of human’s life and life styles were changed dramatically. It’s due to the revolution that we ca have so many types of clothing and we can easily talk to people in different countries. There has also become an increased wealth in the western world.
Texting while driving is a lot more dangerous than drinking while driving. Talking on the phone or texting while driving delays reactions. “Talking on the cell phone while driving can make a young driver’s reaction time as slow as a seventy year old. Texting on a phone while driving is 48 times more likely to have a car accident (“Statistics”).” According to a study done by Rossi crashes happen every fifty five seconds all over this world. In ten years time it is estimated that there will be 16,000,000 car wrecks worldwide. Taking your eyes off the road for that short amount of times, it only takes just five seconds to check that one text message is twenty three times more dangerous.
The Industrial Revolution was a huge event that changed the life of everyone in many different aspects, it was a time of growth and evolution. Even though at that time the conditions were terrible the benefits came long term, the developments and inventions such as transportation and machines were amazing and made life so much easier. It is true that this caused a lot of suffering to many people and I think this is really bad because they could have made the same thing without all that suffering and in better conditions so we have to thank all those people for what we have now. In my opinion it changed the way of history and without it we wouldn´t have many things that we have now, the revolution was the base for many inventions that we already
Texting and driving is a deadly issue in today 's generation. Using our cellphones while driving is a damaging habit among teens and adults. This habit caused many catastrophic accidents and deaths. Texting while driving has made the roads unsafe for other drivers. Many states recognize the immense threat resulting from texting and driving and have placed a ban on this epidemic. While many people realize texting and driving is hazardous others believe that the ban is useless and not strong enough of a solution.
Many people may text while driving thinking that nothing will happen to them or that they can multitask correctly. The truth is they’re just too stubborn to accept that texting while driving is dangerous. Some drivers may just have to learn their lesson when it`s too late and they`re the cause of an accident, unfortunately.
Texting while driving is dangerous to not only the driver but also other motorist on the road. First, we are safer driving intoxicated then sending a text message while driving. Second, even though some may think its a safe alternative hands free cellphones aren 't any safer then texting while driving. Lastly, many people believe texting while driving is just a quick convenient thing but in truth it encourages poor habits and is dangerous.
The Industrial Revolution took place in the late 1700s and early 1800s. This event caused a plethora of new inventions and a chain of events that led to betterment of the lives of people in this time. The invention of the steam engine made the connection of areas easier, leading to a transportation revolution, increased accessibility, cultural blending, and the spread of disease.
One of the dangers of texting while driving at the same time is the attention it takes away from the road. A driver, who is focused on looking at their phone, is not paying enough attention to other cars or what is happening around them. Something as simple as a car stopping in front of them can cause serious damage to the driver and to the other car. “Texting” while driving is the act of composing, sending, or reading text messages, email, or making other similar use of the internet on a mobile device while operating a motor vehicle, such as an automobile, truck, or train (Reuters). Many people and authorities have viewed it as a dangerous practice. It is on occasion like this, where familiarity with the road and surrounding will not make it easier for the driver to look at their cell phone. The probabilities of drivers texting on the cell phone and getting into accidents are only getting higher. Cell phone use while driving accounts for a major cause of
Cell phones have changed rapidly over the years. One thing is that they have become more of a distraction. People used to just call others, when you wanted to talk to them. Nowadays, people would text someone rather than call them. Truly calling and texting are very dangerous to do while driving. Texting is just more dangerous because drivers take all of their attention away. First, drivers take their eyes away from the road. If something was to run out in front of your vehicle, the driver probably wouldn’t see until it was possibly too late. Second drivers take their hands away from the wheel. If a driver would have to make a drastic turn, they will need both hands. Lastly, drivers take your mind away from the wheel. The driver could easily miss something because they were no longer paying attention. Texting while driving is more dangerous than calling someone but they are still both very risky, and dangerous.
Janet Froetscher who is on the National Safety Council stated, “We know that at least 1.6 million car crashes involve drivers using cell phones and texting.” This high number of accidents breaks down to 11 deaths of just teenagers a day. Texting while driving should be made illegal to save lives. Mike Dudzinski a current fire captain of Peoria, Arizona stated in an interview that in just a year he experiences about 100 deaths with texting being the cause. Texting while driving is a wide controversy that needs to be made as a law in order to protect lives.
The modern world is extremely reliant on technology, whether it has to deal with smart phones, cars, or medicine. Without the Industrial Revolution, the present day would not be the same. The Industrial Revolution was a blessing for the middle class because production, healthcare, and transportation improved. Industrialization improved the lives for all groups of people in Europe because of the advancement of technology. Lifestyles began to improve due in part to the introduction of efficient machines rather than hand production. It was necessary for industrialization to occur in order for the large population to sustain.
Edison is most famous for the development of the first electric light bulb. Like I said Edison was born into a time where America wasn’t very developed. He was born, and electricity had not been developed. But thanks to Edison when he had passed away on October 18, 1931 whole cities were lit up in electricity. For electricity, much of the credit goes to Edison.
Light bulb is one of the most influential inventions in the word. It makes us work more productive at night and helps us enjoy more activities at night. It significantly change people lives all over the world. The born of light bulb also helped us by making more inventions that related to light, such as phones, televisions, and computes. By using light bulb, we actually reduced the probability of having fire accidents because if we don’t have light bulb, we will use candles instead which can cause fire easily. There are a lot more benefits we get from light bulb, and all of these are credited to Thomas Alva Edison.
