Has the American Dream changed? On August 28, 1963, Martin Luther King Jr. delivered his speech “ I Have a Dream” to a large group of civil rights marchers around the Lincoln memorial in Washington DC. During the 1960s, the white people and the black people were separated, the whites and blacks had to go to separate schools, had to use separate bathrooms, water fountains, ride separate buss. Martin Luther King Jr believed on freedom and equality for everyone. “I have a dream that one day this nation will rise up and live out the true meaning of its creed: "We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal." Martino says. His american dream was to conquer rights for all. Martin Luther King Jr’s american dream was for all whites, blacks and for all people to have freedom, to have rights, and for all colored people to join together as one. As for my american dream, it is to stop child starvation, and child abuse around the world. It is unfair for children to live in torture, and all children are to be raised in good atmosphere, with love and happiness. Though, my brothers american dream is quite similar to mine. To make peace, and show respect and loyalty to one another. People should not be judged based on the color of their skins, but should only be judged based on their character. Children all around the world should be raised with love and happiness, never in pain and sadness. People with more than enough money, should always lend a hand to others who are need for help.
