A game changer once said, “Obstacles don’t have to stop you. If you run into a wall, don't turn around and give up. Figure out how to climb it, go through it, or work around it.” Michael Jordan has missed more than 9,000 shots in his career. He has missed 26 game winning shots and has lost almost 300 games. He has failed various times, but that does not hold him back from trying again. Michael Jordan is a game changer because he always perseveres, keeps trying, and overcomes adversity which is why he has changed the world and most people know about his story.

He has bought an NBA team, supported many different charities, and changed the NBA. One of Michael Jordan’s biggest impacts was when he bought the Charlotte Hornets. The author says, “On June 15, 2006, Jordan made his way back into the NBA by purchasing a minority stake in the Charlotte Bobcats.” (Hawkins 92) Jordan has impacted the team in many ways. On May 21, 2013 Jordan announced that he had submitted an application to change the name of the Charlotte Bobcats. They would be known as the Charlotte Hornets starting in the 2014-2015 season. The team also started playing better because of Jordan’s positive impact. After his retirement Jordan started supporting many different charities. In an article about Michael Jordan’s Charities it says, “Michael Jordan charities have touched the lives of many people across this country and beyond.” (Michael Jordan Charity) Jordan has founded or funded many different charities. He has changed many people’s lives and given them a chance to become a part of a community. Michael Jordan has changed the NBA in many ways. “Among his many moments, Jordan received a four minute standing ovation at the Bulls’ United Center. The Miami Heat also retired No. 23 even though Jordan had no ties to the franchise.” (Hawkins 85) This shows the impact that Jordan had on the NBA.
