Every year when I go back up to the lodge, I look forward to seeing the people that I have met in the past. I have made friends with people that I never met before and have gone on two day fishing trips with them. The person that I have become great friends with is Dave Mclain. Dave is a sales marketer and works in Duluth, Minnesota. He has been coming up to our lodge for about 12 years now, and I have known him for as long as I can remember. Dave and I, went out fishing for two days straight, and camped in the woods together. We caught some huge fish. The biggest fish that I caught in the two days was a 29 inch walleye. His biggest was a 43 inch northern pike. When I ever get bored up at the lodge, I go fishing by myself with a music speaker, and listen to music while catching fish as fast as I can bait them. Having this kind of lifestyle to grow up in has …show more content…
My Grandpa has taught me how to hunt and to complete whatever task is at hand 100%. Hunting has played a huge part in my life, because it bring almost every one of my family members together. My first time being able to hunt was in October 2010. My Grandpa offered to take me hunting since my Dad was in Dogskin. He has hunting land by his house, and we decided that we were going to hunt their most of the weekend. We saw a total of three deer the entire weekend, including the 8 point buck that I shot. I shot it in the last ten minutes that it is legal to hunt in Wisconsin. I was so proud after I shot the buck. Since then I have shot two bucks that were both 10 pointers. The biggest one I shot was in 2015 and it measured at 168 inches. I shot it by myself at my Grandpa Slater’s land. It was one of the biggest buck’s that was shot at my Grandpa Slater’s land ever. Along with hunting, I have caught some huge fish in my life too. The biggest fish that I have ever caught was a 31 inch walleye that I caught at Dogskin. I haven’t been able
After an hour and forty five minute drive I was home. I still had over two hours of prime hunting left. I saw several deer that afternoon but they were all too far away for a shot. Just before dark I had a doe come in to about 125 yards away. Knowing that there was little chance that I could hit the deer I took a shot. Sure enough It was a clean miss. Disappointed I hopped back in my car and headed back to East Lansing. The next day I got up at five in the morning and headed to Muskegon. The next Tuesday my roommate and I decided to try are luck again. My roommate and I went to high school together and we had always been hunting partners. I had a class at one o'clock that day so we could only hunt till eleven that morning. We were in the field a half hour before light. I was optimistic that I could get a descent shot off that morning.
This essay will explore reasons why females such as Vanessa George turn to the crime of sex offending. Demonstrating my knowledge and understanding of classical criminological theory, exploring biological theories such as penis envy and more contemporary views such as liberation theory within feminism. The essay will then go on to look at the inequalities female sex offenders face within the criminal justice system in comparison with males, using chivalry theory and evil woman theory to explain this.
There is no other big-game animal in North America like the white-tailed deer. The whitetails habitat is so widespread that it covers just about all of North America and parts of Central America. The white-tailed deer is the most commonly hunted big game animal ever. Before the settlers arrived, an estimated 30 million whitetails inhabited what is now the United States and Canada. But as settlers pursued them for food and market hunters slaughtered them with snares, traps, and set guns, the deer population underwent a disastrous decline. By 1900, only 400,000 whitetails remained.

If bow hunting for deer is something that appeals to you, then the best advice I can give you is to seek out a veteran bow hunter that’s been doing it for years or pay a visit to your local bow shop. These shops are an invaluable resource for the aspiring hunter, you will get way better information from a local hunting shop than you can get from the big retailers
At the age of 12 my Dad told me I would finally be able to go hunting with him, if I wanted. Although a pistol can be used, a...
The whitetail deer, or scientifically known as Odocoileus virginianus, is one of the most known animals in America. They are found just about everywhere in the United States and can also be found in Canada, Mexico, and Central America. Because they are found all over, deer hunting has become a major sport and in the U.S. People hunt them for food and also for the challenge of getting the "big buck."
When many people think of hunting, they think of cruel, evil people senselessly killing innocent animals. What they don’t realize is that hunting is a passed down tradition and a way for people to bond with others who share a love for the sport. There are two main types of hunting: bowhunting and hunting with a rifle. There are strict rules and regulations that apply to hunting, so someone can’t just go out and start shooting up all the animals. Before anyone can hunt, they have to pass a class and a field test in order to get their license.
Bruce and I were becoming better friends as each day passed, and I know this experience is what made our friendship what it is today. After this trip, we continue to be duck hunting buddies. Hunt after hunt, he would call the ducks into our decoys.
Do you love to hunt deer? I do too. As avid deer hunters, we spend countless hours preparing our bows or rifles so we’re ready to make the shot when it counts. We try different ammos and arrows, we sight in our weapons and we spend a good amount of time target shooting to make sure everything’s perfect. If everything goes right, we get the chance to take the shot.
You could go every single day without seeing a deer, but when everything is right like the weather conditions and the wind there’s potential to see the biggest buck that you have ever seen. The whitetail rut is one of the most import days on a hunter’s calendar. (Sturgis)
There is on time that I will never forget. It was early in the morning, I was running behind about 15 minutes, so by the time I got out in the woods it was legal shooting hours. Theirs a spot on the side of the road where corn is stored by Game Fish and Parks. I had seen deer their before so I drove be before hiking in to my stand. Standing 40 yards is probably the biggest buck I have ever seen on public hunting grounds. I jumped out of my truck and pulled up on him. Now my bow has three sights on it. They are set at ten yards, 20 yards, and 30 yards. The deer being at 40 yards I was a little unsure if I could hit him. I had shot at 40 yards before so I roughly knew I had to use my 30 yard sight and aim around 2.5 to 3 feet above the buck. By the time I had all this calculated the buck didn’t want to stick around any longer so he ran off. It had just snowed the night before so it was easy for me to follow him. I followed him for about a mile the he jumped the fence onto private land ending the hunt. I still have yet to see him again. Most hunters that I know that both bow and rifle hunt feel the same
My mom would hunt often with my grandpa when she was young, as a result, she has always wanted me to continue the tradition. I realized after the hunt, that day was one of the best days of my life. I will always remember exactly what happened that day, that is to say, it was a very special day in my life. With hunting being a really important activity we do in our family, if we have any free time we are at the hunting lease. As a family we get ready for the season by working on the lease. I grew up loving to hunt and fish because of my family. I love when we go to our hunting lease, because it is like our little family getaways. We get to spend time with each other and just hangout and relax. These experiences has made me who I am today; therefore, I know that I will keep this tradition up with my
