Technology is an aspect that has brought various changes to our lifestyle. Digital modes of communication and application have replaced the analog system. The same effect of technology has been affecting the law enforcement departments. The advancement in technology has significantly changed the way that the police do their business. Police are now looking to using drones in patrolling, this saves on human resources, and it is easier to monitor vast and remote areas. The police are also using tools such as the social media in gathering information and analysis people because most people share most things on the social media. For the police to work efficiently, they must work hand-in-hand with the society. Community policing has emerged as a trend in the present day thus encouraging the police to work with the community. With this method, the cops can easily rely on the community for any information regarding any criminal activities. The plan has however not been effective as it depends on the trust between the society and the police. With the recent incidents of police brutality the communities do not believe that the police have the values that match those of the society. Civil disobedience is a challenge to the police because the police have to enforce the law. People are becoming more politically active presently. People also have an understanding of their rights, and it is, therefore, the duty of the policy to maintain order without infringing on the rights of this people.In managing the people participating in civil disobedience, the police have to act within the law. The police should try and ensure that such incidents are very peaceful. When people break the rules they, however, have to ensure that they keep peace using minimal force police should be adequately trained on how to manage crowds and they should ensure that no people are getting
