Abstract
Child physical abuses keep increasing day by day. Children should be free and independent to enhance their social development. These types of abuses can harmful to children. It can make them feel alone. Thus, the parents and the teachers should take an initiative to know and understand their problem and behavior and know how to overcome the problem without abusing them. Research shows that the physical also can damage a child’s self in a number of ways (Prino, 1994). This study was carried out to see the perception of people on physical abuse among the children. Participants were 3 lecturers of Early Childhood Education, 12 students of Bachelors of Early Childhood Education and 15 students of Diploma in Early Childhood Education in Taj International College and UNITAR International University (Ipoh Regional Centre). Questionnaire is given to determine how children abuse by adults, how child physical affect the children and why children are physically abuse by adults. Physical abuse involves physical harm or injury to the child. It may be the result of a deliberate attempt to hurt the child. Physical punishment is the use of physical force with the intention of causing the child to experience bodily pain so as to correct the child’s behavior (Gershoff, 2008). Not all abusers are intentionally harming their children. Many have been victims of abuse themselves and don’t know any other way to parent. Others may be struggling with mental health issues. Child physical abuse doesn’t only happen in poor families it also crosses all racial, economic, and cultural. In 2007, there were 149,000 cases of child physical abuse reported in the 50 states.
