Hip-Hop plays a big part in my life. Thats, all i listen to besides a little bit of pop. Without listening to hip-hop i’d be so bored with music. What I really love about it is the beats. To hear and feel the bass in the song really brings out the feeling of the song to me. Lyrics also paly a big part in it as well. The blend of the hip-hop style of music all beautifully comes together to me. Without beats, what could a song go in tune with? When I listen to hip-hop music, I can actually feel the music. Any song can actuallly describe the way I feel. It could be a slow song, fast upbeat song, or even a monotone song and you can still the effort made into the the song. Hip-hop can descrobe all my moods in just one song, pretty awesome right? Any genre of music can connect with you depending on what you like, in this case hip-hop music for me. I love when the song without the bass starts off the song, and then you here the bass drop, you can really hear the effort that was put into a song. …show more content…
I personally like a song that makes sense and actually tells a story about real life matters. One verse in a lyric can make a difference in a persons life. I think lyrics have a positive and negative affect on a persons mindset. All depending on what’s going on in the song. We hear a lot of music with violence, killing, raping, sex and I really think it influences people to do wrong in this country. You have to pick and choose what and who you are going to listen to when you do listen to the hip-hop genre of music. Personally, those hard hip-hop songs don’t affect me, but the love slow songs do. So it affects everyone in different
Hip Hop’s according to James McBride article “Hip Hop Planet” is a singular and different form of music that brings with it a message that only those who pay close attention to it understand it. Many who dislike this form of music would state that it is one “without melody, sensibility, instruments, verse, or harmony and doesn’t even seem to be music” (McBride, pg. 1). Though Hip Hop has proven why it deserves to be called music. In going into depth on its values and origins one understands why it is so popular among young people and why it has kept on evolving among the years instead of dying. Many of Hip Hop values that make it unique and different from other forms of music would be that it makes “visible the inner culture of Americas greatest social problem, its legacy of slavery, has taken the dream deferred to a global scale” (McBride, pg. 8). Hip Hop also “is a music that defies definition, yet defines our collective societies in immeasurable ways” (McBride, pg. 2). The
Hip-hop music is my favorite genre of music because the way I grew up I can relate to a lot of the things it portrays. I also enjoy R&B and gospel music because it is what listened to as a child. Some hip-hop artist I enjoy are Fabulous, Andre 3000 and T.I. because a lot of their music tells a story and gives life lessons. J Cole is my favorite hip-hop artist because he makes great music, he is a philanthropist and he uses his platform to speak and act on social issues.
Hip-hop can demolish citizen. For instance violence in some songs cause the youth to starts fights and also kill citizens. On the other hand, gangs and street thugs are a few examples. However teenagers kills, steals, vandalize, and etc. Therefore, hip hop has produce an negative impact in the world today. It has promoted an unhealthy lifestyle. This is due to attitudes and behaviors of American Youth. In addition, it teaches African American youth to use profanity. Furthermore, american youth does not have no role model when listening to hip-hop.
There are many things I like about hip-hop. Including the beat, artists, and the big variety of voice styles. I love how most hip-hop songs have fast and upbeat tempos. It really makes me enjoy the music more. Also, a lot of artists include different meanings in their songs. Some may have been written when they were feeling down, energetic, or excited. I really enjoy how the different artists all have different voice styles. Some sing better than others but I like that.

Back in the disco days, in the early 1970’s, began a new genre called Hip Hop. It was born in the crime ridden neighborhoods of the South Bronx. Hip Hop is the extracting rhythms of melodies from existing records and mixing them up with searing poetry chronicling life in the hood. Though, hip hop started on the east coast, it did spread rapidly throughout all the clubs and hotels in New York. Then later on, it began to spread to the west coast in Los Angeles. This is where hip hop began to develop its own musical style. Hip hop is known and described as the voice of a generation that refused to be silenced by urban poverty. It is a genre that is fueled up with a lot of passion and truth that is spreading across the entire world. Hip hop is
From my point of view, when people today are asked what forms of music they enjoy, some might say all forms except hip-hop or all forms except country. When they are asked why, some may say because it’s either to boring or too provocative. I believe that both hip-hop and country music both bring some form of negativity on society, not only in America, but all around the world. Some of the most common negative effects that I believe they might bring on society are violence, such as abuse, suicide, and/or drugs and alcohol.
As the semester comes to a close, I take this opportunity to look back on what I have learned in this class. Since I was young boy, hip-hop has been a huge part of my life. In this essay, I will guide you and explain how this genre of music has spread internationally and has become a global sensation.

Whether for the better or for the worse. Rap music has just as many as negative effects as positive effects within the lyrics of rap music. The lyrics that have built an entire revolution and culture among the human race. There has been speculation and there will always be those who doubt rap music, although the gap between who enjoys it and who dislikes is increases. Rap is making its way to becoming more and more relatable for all. So no matter the lyrics, all is relatable to those who listen to the songs as much as those who have created
Dr. Boyce Watkins compares Hip Hop to “Adolph Hitler’s Mien Kampf as a harmless little book or the bible has no impact on Christianity” (KultureKritic). Basically he is trying to say that when you control of a few group of people’s minds you are controlling the people themselves. By corpora ting the airwaves with message serve as a blueprint for our youth to self-destruct by creating a large army of pants-sagging, Blunt-smoking, tattooed-up, uneducated, STD-infected, impoverished thugs.
Half of all americans think that as a musical form, hip hop has most likely reached its peak and will not get any better. It may be because hip hop is the most recently developed genre and it has not had the time to develop as strong and loyal as a fan base as the other musical categories have. However, people of every age group including those 18-35 voted hip hop likely to have peaked, Now that 's a bad rap (60 Minutes 2). Hip-Hop music does influence society in a positive way.
Hip-hop music can additionally have some positive impacts. For example its verbal imagination can motivate audience members to play with dialect, and acknowledge musicality and rhyme (Selke INT). Just like poetry, hip-hop can be a way of expressing oneself.
Hip Hop is an amazing thing that will blow your mind. In my opinion, Hip hop is a funky style of music that I enjoy. But what about hip-hop am I trying to talk about, you are asking. Honestly, I would respond, would be anything; from the rhyme schemes and themes used in various sub genres of hip-hop to it being a political tool to some. At first when I interested in writing on the subject it seemed like something that I wanted to do just because I am really interested in the topic, which is true. I did not think about what exactly there was to write about, but as I was listening to some music, I took a conscious effort to really listen to the music.
