Beacon of Light
Deadpool, Ryan Reynolds’ most recent big-screen-hit of 2016 wears the crown of awards such as MTV Movie Award for Best Fight and Best Comedic Performance. This movie was first born in the incredibly sadistic and dark comedy of Marvel’s world of not-so-good superheroes. 0The movie depicts a story about a mercenary who has a dexterity for killing, as well as forgiving the petty. Moreover, his character possesses the crucial soft-spot that could consequently get him killed. In the film, Deadpool falls deeply in love with Vanessa; a girl that is equally or maybe more sick-minded and damaged than the man himself.
Deadpool and Vanessa soon decide to move in together and live a full year of normality in the heat of love, until one

Wade goes out on a manhunt, for the horrid and cynical man that deviated the course of his life, in hopes to return to Vanessa one day without a freak-show face. The effectiveness of the analyzed scene is rooted in the potential that Deadpool holds for justice as well as his determination and his, barbarous but comical aura.
The genesis of the scene I will be analyzing renders the iconic beginning of any superhero--the initial design or prototype of the legendary suit. This part serves as a reminder of scenes like the one from Spiderman where we see his incredible self-discovery.
Likewise, in those moments, Spiderman determines the individual he wants the world to recognize. Also, he brings out the best in himself and makes necessary corrections to finalize his look.
Now going back to the Deadpool scene, what makes it so powerful, is that it gives the audience a glimpse of Deadpool’s potential towards the greater good of society because it is incredibly rare to see an anti-hero in movies producing his own suit (unless you’re a villain mutant named Mystique and your own body lets you shape-shift as you please). Therefore, it is unclear whether or not Deadpool falls in the category between good or bad, but this section of the scene surely gives me
How would you like to be accused of a crime and then be disenfranchised because of your race? Well this is what happened to Mark Charles Parker because he allegedly raped June Walters a pregnant white woman on February 23 1959. In Howard Smead’s historical nonfiction book Blood Justice he describes one of the most important investigations of a racist, motivated crime in the history of the United States.
“Simple Justice” was written by Richard Kluger and reviews the history of Brown v. Board of Education, the Supreme Court decision that outlawed segregation, and African America’s century-long struggle for equality under law. It began with the inequities of slavery to freedom bells to the forcing of integration in schools and the roots of laws with affect on African Americans. This story reveals the hate caused the disparagement of African Americans in America over three hundred years. I learned how African Americans were ultimately acknowledged by their simple justice. The American version of the holocaust was presented in the story. In 1954 the different between how segregation and slavery were not in fashion when compared with dishonesty of how educating African American are separate from Caucasian was justified by the various branches of government.
Let’s discuss a little bit of comic book history for starters. The most iconic superhero in all of American comic book history has got to be Superman. He was created near the beginning of superhero comic books and debuted in Action Comics #1 in 1938[1]. He would remain as the blueprint for many superheroes for years to come as the atypical white American male. But as the years go by there were comic book heroes that came out that go against this archetype such as Wonder
In 1941, Stan Lee, the creator of the Marvel universe, released his firs comic book about the patriotic hero Captain America. This comic was released during World War 2 to give the Americans a sense of hope and to let people know that we’re not alone. Marvel does a good job with its comics because they want to show you that even when times get tough, as long as you have hope things will get better. A good example of this would be Spiderman. When his Uncle Ben died, his last words to Peter were, “With great power, comes great responsibility.” Spiderman goes on to
This is seen through his behaviour and actions as he is shown to almost fear Vanessa and her authority. While Mark and Juno are watching horror movies at his house, Mark quickly turns the TV off when he hears the sound of Vanessa arriving and states, “That’s Vanessa, you better go. She hates it when I sit around and watch movies and don’t ‘contribute’,” (39:14). This scene depicts Mark’s fear of Vanessa because he simply does what Vanessa wants him to do causing her dominance to overshadow his free will. Also, it seems as if Vanessa has told him before not to watch horror movies and out of his fear he quickly turns the TV off. Mark is unable to make his own independent decision and stand up to Vanessa, thus succumbing to what she wants and expects of him. In a later scene, Juno was shown visiting Mark and Vanessa’s home again to inform them of the status of the baby but only finds Mark there. When she asks if Vanessa is home Mark replies, “No, we are safe”(55:05). Indirectly, Mark portrayed Vanessa as a threat and that her absence is valued by them. Mark feels that if Vanessa is present, neither he or Juno will be able to express themselves freely and will be pressured by her. His lack of dominance is shown here because he displays Vanessa as the powerful being and when she is present he is restricted or threatened by her and is unable to make his own decisions. Lastly, when Mark confesses to Vanessa that he does not want the baby, she ridicules his boyish dream of becoming a rockstar stating that, ¨This is something that’s never gonna happen. Your shirt is stupid. Grow up! If I have to wait for you to become Kurt Cobain, then I’m never gonna be a mother”(1:00:34). Vanessa mocks Mark in front of Juno disrespecting him and not valuing his opinion. Male dominance is again not shown here because he remains quiet as she insults
...use Batman saves lives without having any powers and that lets people relate to him. It is hard to relate to a superhero that can shoot webs and climb building like a spider when a normal person cannot do that. Batman builds unbelievable gadgets to defeat his nemesis. Batman has a bat mobile, bat tank, bat motorcycle, and a bat helicopter as his vehicles. Batman also has gadgets like sonar, armor that is hard to penetrate, bat ring that works like a boomerang just to name a few of the gadgets he has on his utility belt. Superheroes like Spider-Man that have super powers can rely on their powers while Batman has to rely on his intelligence, strength and gadgets to defeat enemies. Ultimately, both of these men put there lives on the line to help the people of their city. Some may do it better than others and I feel as if Spider-Man is the better superhero of the two.
The movie Deadpool is written by Paul Whitreck and directed by Tim Miller. The movie is about a man named Wade Wilson who underwent an experiment to help cure his cancer. In doing so the experiment went wrong and he gained accelerating healing powers which messed his face up. However he received his name from a scene early in the movie when he was in the bar. The movie went back in forth as far as memories but Wade wilson named himself Deadpool based on how he looked and the condition he was in. He gains new abilities and is on a search for the person that nearly killed him during the experiment. The movie is a reintegration of the comic books by marvel of this alter ego killer, not your typical friendly superhero. Deadpool is one of my favorite movies because of the level of action/violence, the sound effects/special effect and the good acting in the movie.
His role, however, for Marvel’s Deadpool can speak otherwise. Casting is a big gamble. If there is a right cast, the acting can make up for any other error in the film. Even the household names can flop.
One of the most iconic thing about deadpool was how much of foul mouthed person he was. No matter what the situation was, Deadpool always had something to say, and in the movie, the got rid of this side of him without thinking about if it was a valuable addition to the movie. The second price was the katana blades in his hands. In the comics, Deadpool’s only super power is his superhuman healing (Acotilletta2). This was another
The company has not been shy to include diverse characters into their comic books. Some of these characters consist of Blackpanther, Storm, Luke Cage, Storm, and Shang-chi. Within the X-men movie, it challenges the barriers of equality within America. “Wolverine battles with Magneto who is lurking in Liberty's torch. The staging of the finale visually illustrates the ideological fight over whether the United States belongs only to the ancestors of the Founding Fathers or to the diverse groups who continue to immigrate here seeking freedom and equality.”
In conclusion, Spider Man is a very unrealistic super hero. There is no way someone would put their family and friends in danger by being the city’s super hero. The police and government would surely have you arrested and/or killed for making unwarranted arrests. No matter how unrealistic Spider Man is, he is the most realistic of all the other heroes.
Xavier and his roommates begin to go out more together and enjoy partying with one another in the city, they begin to learn about each other’s cultural norms and how the attitudes toward different things differ based on where they are from. This broadens Xavier’s horizons immensely, and he learns to not take life so seriously, he begins to learn how to, “go with the flow.” After a few months his girlfriend comes to visit him which becomes a eye opener when he realizes she may not be the one for him. He thought she was the love of his life, but he soon sees she does not support him or the decisions he makes and their relationship probably will not work out. After this he begins to cheat on his girlfriend with Anne-Sophie who he stayed with during the beginning of his trip.
Imagine an elderly man, sitting hunched in his chair, his face wrinkled and sad, while his sweet-faced wife sits behind him, surrounded by their children. This man has lived in Cleveland, Ohio most of his adult life, and he has worked hard, raised a family, and contributed to his community in various ways. In his youth, however, he committed multiple counts of murder, including the execution of human rights activists, under direct orders of his military supervisor. Is this man, now 90, worth the time and considerable money it has taken to find him and prosecute him? Should he be prosecuted in a foreign land, and sentenced to prison for the rest of his life for crimes he committed over 50 years ago? This is a complex issue to consider, yet the answer is clear: yes, absolutely, this man must be prosecuted, and so must others like him.
Every couple wants a dream life, and this is exactly what Rachel and Tom had, for a while. But while Rachel was planning a trip for their fourth year anniversary, she stumbled upon conversations in Tom’s laptop that he had with a lady named Anna. Tom was cheating. He didn’t like Rachel’s inability to conceive and her excessive consumption of alcohol. Soon after, they got a divorce, but ironically, Rachel was the one who moved out, while she was quickly replaced by Anna - in the home that she and Tom bought and decorated.
Of course I looked “justice” up in the dictionary before I started to write this paper and I didn’t find anything of interest except of course a common word in every definition, that being “fair”. This implies that justice would have something to do with being fair. I thought that if one of the things the law and legal system are about is maintaining and promoting justice and a sense of “fairness”, they might not be doing such a spiffy job. An eye for an eye is fair? No, that would be too easy, too black and white. I could cite several examples where I thought a judge’s or jury’s ruling was not fair, but I won’t because frankly, we’ve all seen those.
