If women or men fall out of there stereotype then they can be bullied, frowned upon, seen as freaks, etc. Let’s say if a boy showed up to school in a dress with make up on he will mostly like be bullied and sent home from school. Same as if a girl shows up to school in “tom-boy” clothes and don’t wear makeup are seen as ugly. Or, if a boy is playing with a doll as a kid his parents might discourage him and he might he shamed and he then might feel different. Also, if a girl is playing with toy trucks and go outside in the dirt her parents might discourage her and shame her. This could have a negative affect children’s development. Sure, the rooms that children grow up in are a start, but the color of a room can’t determine how they will act their entire lives. Gender roles are learned in various places, such as school, church, from parents, and on television. Bullying of students in school is an abuse that affects and produces a number of negative experiences on the victim. It is proven that those students who bully do so merely because they see themselves superior than those being bullied. They use this as a tactic to make juniors fear them and show them that they are not equal in any way. Some will even bully as a revenge of the bullying they suffered in the past. I have been bullied before and I know some of the effects it could have on a person. Bullying is a serious cause of many issues and has effects that may be long lasting.
