How do serial killers affect society “Jeffrey Dahmer”?
Serial killers have both bad and believe it or not good effects on society. By good, I mean having serial killers and understanding why they do what they do and understanding their past lets psychologists, social workers and other social services and research understand why a human would enjoy doing those things, and possibly what events or circumstances led them to become a serial killer, whether it has to do with genetics or coming from a very bad environment and home-life or a mix of genetics and hardships. And in researching and finding out about serial killers, we can make an effort to try and help those individuals who show possible signs to grow up to not become a serial killer.
On the other hand, there are many types of serial killers and some of them are serial killers because mental disorders such as being a psychopath or sociopath. You will find that many serial killers are considered psychopaths or sociopaths. But not always.
Read up about Ted Bundy and the Zodiac killer, and other serial killers it will give you an insight on their history and early childhood and such. And may tell you whether they were considered psychopath or sociopaths.

He’s Convicted serial killer and sex offender Jeffrey Dahmer murdered 17 males between 1978 and 1991. He was killed by a fellow prison inmate in 1994. Born in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, in 1960, Jeffrey Dahmer displayed troubling behavior following childhood surgery. He committed his first murder in 1978, and was arrested multiple times before claiming his second victim, in 1987. In addition to killing the men and teenagers he lured home, he mutilated, photographed and performed sexual acts on the victims ' corpses, keeping body parts as mementos. Dahmer was captured in 1991 and sentenced to 16 life terms. He was killed by fellow prison inmate Christopher Scarver in 1994
