Imagine living in a world without electricity? You would basically be living in complete darkness. What would you do? Today I am going to be talking about an invention during the Industrial Revolution that changed the world and made it a little more brighter. Well this is all thanks to America’s leading businessman, Thomas Edison, who invented the first ever electric light bulb. Many of you may know who he is and what he invented. Well his invention helped illuminate whole cities and it changed lives during the Industrial Revolution because it had many great outcomes. It helped the pace of the city life quicken because now factories would be able to operate after dark. By the 1890s, cables carried electrical power from dynamos to factories.

So, the first ever incandescent light bulb was invented by Thomas Edison. Well what is an incandescent light bulb? An incandescent light bulb is an electric light with a wire filament heated to such high temperature that it glows with visible light. I hope you all agree with me that Thomas Edison inventing lightbulbs has made a great impact. "Many of life's failures are people who did not realize how close they were to success when they gave up." This quote is by Thomas Edison and relates to him creating the light bulb because he didn't give up on creating an invention even though he may have thought it was going to be useless. But, fortunately his invention actually worked and changed the world. Maybe Thomas Edison felt like his invention was going to be a failure but he never gave up even if he thought that. If you want to create something but you think it's going to be a failure, you shouldn't give up because what if it turns out to be a success but you gave up on it. Maybe it might end up changing the world like Thomas Edison did by inventing the first ever electric light
