Goats are a good trade because it led to many good things in the U.S. They played a major role in the New World’s way of life because it provided the Americans with food, milk and other uses. Goats helped Americans with many things such as their hair, skins all over the world. Goats are domesticated all over the world because it plays a major role in people’s lives.
Goats originated from southwest Asia and Eastern Europe. The goat( Greatest Of All Time) is a member of the family Bovidae and are closely related to sheeps as they are in the same family the Caprinae family. There are over 300 different types of goat breeds.
The goats were located in Austria, Swiss, Spanish areas, and England. They were mainly located in New England as well as South America it was during 1500’s to the 1700’s. They went mainly to England, Mexico and Austria areas. But during the columbian exchange they went to the New World which is nowadays United States Of America. The states that the goats went to would be Colorado, California and Ohio.

Goats helped with cheese, shortly helping to make cheese with their unique milk. Goats were mainly used for their meat which is the healthiest meat there is from what I have heard. If there was no cows or buffaloes for meat they would use goats for their meat which make goats even more useful. Goats made an impact on the U.S because they had many uses to them some of those uses are their wool, that provided the Americans with some kind of resource to make some type of clothes. The last thing that I am going to mention about goats are that they are useful due to their fast breeding which helps the Americans in many ways such as more food, more milk and more wool for
Animals were highly valued in trade because they could be used for so many things. Parts of animals could be made into tools, their fur could be used as clothing, blankets and such, and they could be used as food. Animals were a great source of food back in the days of the indigenous people. Their meat was a very important source of protein. The Dakota made things out of their bison, such as little boxes out of their hooves, and water bottles out of their bladder. Meanwhile, the Ojibwe sold their deer, mainly for clothing and other similar
Not only did Lewis and Clark strengthened U.S. claims in the West, but the journals explained thousand of varietals plant and animal specimens and had notes on Native American societies which in turn lead to a western encyclopedia. The expedition specifically mapped out a viable route to the Pacific Ocean. It created new territory for the fur and lumber trade and showed where most opportune lands for agriculture and settlements. The expedition also established peaceful contact with many Native American peoples. Finally, the expedition set a pattern for government-sponsored scientific exploration in the United States. The first American group to organize an expedition out West was the Corps of Discovery their impact can't be underestimated.
The first horses were forced to hang in slings under the deck of ships all the way across the sea to the New World. The explorers brought only the toughest and best horses to the New World. They were bringing so many horses that soon the Spanish Government restricted how many horses could be brought to the New World. There were already enough horses in Cuba, Puerto Rico, and Santa Domings to start breeding farms. Soon after the farms were established, they started on the main land, and that is where the mustangs got their start.
Few events in history have impacted a culture as much as the introduction of the horse into plains Indian culture. The positive impact of the horse on North America's indigenous people has been romanticized forever in popular culture. The portrait of plains Indian horse created by the likes of John Wayne and Clint Eastwood is far from complete. While the horse did make nearly every aspect of Native American life more efficient, the spread of horses also contributed to the violence in the southwestern region of the United States in three ways. The trade of horses among the plains Indians created competition for resources, encouraged and contributed to raiding, and allowed the domination of the region by the Apache Indians.
Lots of different foods were brought to America such as bananas, watermelon, and wheat. There was also livestock such as cattle, pigs, and horses. These resources helped native Americans survive and learn new things about the world. Even though Columbus brought a lot of good things to America he also brought diseases such s typhus and smallpox that the native Americans had no cure too. This was problematic because people had to use more resources to find cures, and the population started to decrease which caused some cultures and traditions to die out. Even though some ways of living ceased to exist, Columbus brought new traditions to teach the natives in America. Since the main religion in Spain was Christianity, Columbus wanted to convert all of the natives and change their traditions to make them more European. All of these changes would affect the outcome of what America would be like in the future. Christopher Columbus made a big impact on America and started getting Europe interested in exploring there. Therefore many other people started traveling to America as
The positive outcomes were because of the trading of new crops and new animals (Doc 5 and Doc 8). Europeans adopted crops from the Americas, which led to changes in their cuisines (Doc 8). Several crops were exchanged between the old and new world, but one of the most important crops in Europe were potatoes (Doc 5). Potatoes could be left non-harvested until they were ready to be eaten, therefore allowing Europeans to avoid paying taxes since tax was not charged for not yet harvested crops (Doc 8). Animals such as pigs, horses, cattle, and sheep also had a significant impact of the environment (Doc 5). They were useful animals, which could reproduce without being hindered by other predators (Doc 8). Pigs could be used as a source of food, and horses allowed for battle and faster travel (Doc 8). Trading between the old and new world at first was a benefit but eventually caused great economical
In the 1830's the Plains Indians were sent to the Great American Deserts in the west because the white men did not think they deserved the land. Afterwards, they were able to live peacefully, and to follow their traditions and customs, but when the white men found out the land they were on were still good for agricultural, or even for railroad land they took it back. Thus, the white man movement westward quickly begun. This prospect to expand westward caused the government to become thoroughly involved in the lives of the Plains Indians. These intrusions by the white men had caused spoilage of the Plains Indians buffalo hunting styles, damaged their social and cultural lives, and hurt their overall lives. The lives of the Plains Indians in the second half of the nineteenth century were greatly affected by the technological development and government actions.

...gative impacts out rule the positive. The horse was used as a feared figure against the Native Americans. The Native Americans couldn't withstand the military advantage that horses posed and so the New World was easily conquered and defeated by the Old World. The Colombian Exchange brought a disadvantage to the New World and an advantage to the Old World.

They made their way through the Central American isthmus to Mexico then (thankfully) took an eastward swing to the Appalachians and northward but no farther than West Virginia for all intents and purposes. In early America, socio-economic class, agriculture, religion and gender played four very important roles in regional distinctions of this newly developing country. Even though agriculture, religion, and gender were extremely important, the biggest factor was socio-economic life. A person’s socio economic class was what determined their life style from a wealth, treatment, and dress style and home, which are major aspects of human life. In Everyday Life in Early America, David Freeman Hawke explains how each of these four factors determined the life style of each early resident of America as well as the overall development of the country in its beginning years to emerge into a growing and improving nation (continue)
The Effects of Colonization on the Native Americans Native Americans had inherited the land now called America and eventually their lives were destroyed due to European colonization. When the Europeans arrived and settled, they changed the Native American way of life for the worse. These changes were caused by a number of factors including disease, loss of land, attempts to export religion, and laws, which violated Native American culture. Native Americans never came in contact with diseases that developed in the Old World because they were separated from Asia, Africa, and Europe when ocean levels rose following the end of the last Ice Age. Diseases like smallpox, measles, pneumonia, influenza, and malaria were unknown to the Native Americans until the Europeans brought these diseases over time to them.
