The Catcher In The Rye In the story “The Catcher In The Rye” written by J.D. Salinger. The main character ‘Holden Caulfield’ is narrating a story. Throughout the end of the novel you can tell that Holden is trying to get rid of his bad nature of not wanting nothing to change. In life you can't help but let things change. Holden wanted everything to stay he same until he finally realized that life couldn't help but change. So yes, I believe that Holden did cha nge from th beginning to the end of the novel. One of the main evidence that Holden did change is when he finally found the purpose of life. Holden had everything someone could want family that loves him, wealth and a good education but he got kicked out of every school he was in rolled in not because he wasn't smart enough but because he wasn't interested enough and dint put no offert. At the end fhe finally finds the purpose when he see his siter trying to touch the gloden rings even though she keeps missing everytime.
