How Did The Beatles Become Successful

Did you know, The Beatles topped charts world wide? Plus, they sold millions of copies of their albums only a few weeks after release? Yes, The Beatles were a very famous rock group and produced a lot of songs in their time and rose to almost instant fame, and what’s really interesting, is their story. From how they started, to their path to global fame, and to the devastating break up.

To begin with, is of course, how they started off. Over in Hamberg, Germany, they started out as a backup band for Tony Sheridan. Also, already off the bat, they were exciting, intricate, and exhilarating. Plus, both John Lennon and Paul McCartney were among the best and most expressive vocals (All Music). Later on, they traveled over to Liverpool, London, and met up with Brian Epstein who became their manager. Epstein got them an audition for Decca Records, they did their best, but they were turned down. Afterwards, they tried many different records and finally got signed with George Martin (All Music). Once they were signed, ImDb states that The Beatles went to the

recording studio and finished their first album, “Please, Please Me,” in only a day! Plus, to add on to their first release, it immediately topped the British charts, and stayed at the top for thirty weeks (All Music)! The Beatles took a huge leap onto the top of the charts and kick started their road to instant fame.
The Beatles were growing more and more quickly and were gaining lots of global fans.

After, “Please, Please Me,” the British invasion started off and also kicked off Beatlemania in the UK and US. Their singles were selling over millions of copies in the UK, and one of their singles, “I Want To Hold Your Hand,” was already topping the charts in the US, in only a few weeks (All Music). With that, they kept on topping charts, and in the UK, “Beatles For Sale,” and the “Help!” Soundtrack, were reaching number one (WatchMojo.com). They also made history and were the first globally transmitted live performance, and four hundred million people watched it. Later on, they started going into psychedelic territory. They released, “Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band,” and it was pop’s greatest triumph (WatchMojo.com). All together, they quickly rose up to the top in music, but now they were starting to

fall.
Following that, was how they led up to breaking up. While on tour, Epstein died, due to overdose (All Music), Lennon described that event as, “beginning of an end,” (ImDb) and that was when they wanted to start going separate ways. The group did start to do their own solo material, but they tried their best to keep the band together (ImDb). Later on, they released the, “Magical Mystery Tour,” film, that was directed by themselves, and it quickly got poor reviews and bombed (All Music). Also, many fans roasted The Beatles on social media after the film came out. In the background, multiple disputes were coming and going, and they were quickly reaching to the point of breaking up, and they decided to have their last live performance on the roof of their new studio, Apple Records. Their performance was going well, until it was quickly ended by police coming to get them to stop and get off the roof of the studio (All Music). Their disputes then kept coming up and they quickly intensified, and brought them all to the point of splitting up, which made thousands of fans disappointed.
In conclusion, The Beatles quickly made it to worldwide fame easily. Also, their story was very interesting, from starting out, to instant popularity, and to their disappointing downfall. Even though it was sad to see the group end, their music still lives on, so maybe next time you’re going to listen to music, why not try one of The Beatles’ popular songs.
