In 1513 the first known African in America entered through Florida came with spanish explorers. His name was Juan Garrido and he's the first known African in America. He helped the spanish explorers take Mexico and was an expoler that went searching for gold in califoia. Then in 1534 the second known African man known in America is Esteban the Moor. Found struggling to cross a desert after surving a spanish expiditon that went wrong. Was known as a Guide and translator. He help the people with him travel across a desert walking over 15,000 miles finding oppertunites.

With all this money coming in because of these slaves working for free ,the british wanted to be apart of all this money thats is being made. British knew what was going on around the world so when they settled down in Jamestown they knew what they were doing. So they went to the main source of where africans were coming so they can take advantage in the money to make, Africa. Sierra Leone was one of the biggest places for slave trade. Hundreds of thousands of slaves were traded here; however, Europeans were not the first to start the slave trade it was the Africans themselves. Africans Used slavery to show power. During wars from african tribes to another people were as a result to these wars were taken as slaves to be used. One of the first African people to start the slave trade with europeans were the Temne People. They would take captive people from these wars and such and would put them into small boats that would go down a stream. Once down stream they would be sold to Europeans for profit. Slavery was a common business for Africans. So most of the slaves that were ever sent to the new world ,were being sold by africans themselves to
