Although there are several theories as to how Edgar Allan Poe died, I think he died from a practice called cooping which involved excessive alcohol ingestion as well. Cooping was a form of electoral fraud where victims are forced to wear disguises, do drugs and drink alcohol and then vote numerous times. Most of the theories involving Poe’s death have been discredited. The cooping theory is one of the most likely ones to have happened. In comparison to other theories, this one is considered likely to be true. There are just too many discrepancies in the other theories to be identified as true.

Edgar Allan Poe was setting out for Baltimore. On October third a man named Joseph Walker had found Poe lying outside by Gunners hall, not normally dressed and unconscious. Poe was unaware of surroundings and was fatigue. Joseph had made contact with a doctor and had sent Poe to the hospital. Four days later Poe had died in the hospital. No scientist had figured out the true reason why Poe died, and we will never actually know because no one had an autopsy for Poe after his death. Many people believed he died of alcoholism, rabies, brain tumor, and the flu, but all of these add up to meningitis and encephalitis.
Lewis is one of the most complex characters in Dickey's novel. It is difficult to tell exactly what his motives are or why he feels such a need to be a survivalist. Because of the way that Lewis talks his friends into participating in his adventures he could potentially end up in Bolgia 9 of Circle 8 in Hell. This is the place where sowers of discord are kept. The families of his friends and even his friends themselves are drug into his plans because he is so convincing that they need to canoe down the river. Even when his friends protest, he strongly rebuts. "'Listen,' Lewis said, knocking on the air with his foreknuckle, `you'll be in more danger on the four-lane going home tonight than you'd ever be on the river. Somebody might jump the divider. Who knows?'" (Dickey 7) Because he talks his friends into joining him on this adventure with such fervor, he is therefore a sower of discord in their lives. These sinners are wounded and mutilated in a variety of ways, but there is one that most closely resembles Lewis' ability to persuade his friends. "Then he grasped on...
He had one brother and two sisters.. At age five, his father, William Lewis, caught Pneumonia and died. Only six months later, Meriwether's mother, Lucy, remarried to a retired military officer, John Marks. Upon the new marriage, Lewis gained one stepbrother, and one stepsister. Marks moved Lucy and their family to Georgia by the Broad River. As Lewis grew up, he gained a love for hunting and just being in the outdoors in general. Where they lived along the Broad River, were some Cherokee. His mother, along with the Indians, taught him about herbs and fruits. At age thirteen, his parents finally sent him to school in Virginia to get an education. Matthew Maury, Parsons William Douglos, Dr. Charles Everitt, and Reverend James Waddell taught Lewis throughout his time at Liberty Hall, where he graduated in 1793. The next year, by Virginia Militia, he was chosen for detachment to maintain the Whiskey Rebellion. As another year passed, Lewis became a lieutenant, serving the Frontier Army for six years. In the year of 1800, Lewis moved up in rank and became a captain for the U.S. Army. Later on in April of 1801, President Jefferson chose Lewis as his secretary. Working with each other was easier than most, because Lewis and Jefferson already knew each other from childhood. Lewis was also chosen by Jefferson to command or lead a journey of the newly purchased land from the “Louisiana Purchase”. In 1803,
Once Congress approved the funds for the expedition, President Jefferson chose Captain Meriwether Lewis as its leader. Lewis was chosen mainly because he already had some knowledge of the west and was an experienced Army officer. After making further arrangements for the expedition, Lewis decided he wanted a co-captain and selected another Army officer, William Clark.
In conclusion C.S. Lewis utilizes all the literary tools at his disposal very effectively to create an empathy between the reader and the narrator, by utilizing the pace of the words and the sentences to create a tense and suspenseful environment, also he delves very deep into the mind and thoughts of the narrator so really the reader doesn’t have any information besides the biased information the narrator gives us. As well as utilizing a lot of repetition and description of his thoughts that will emphasize in the overall ambiance of fear to darkness, being alone and being insane.
Macbeth caused his own deaths around him by murdering his king and then ordering to have his best friend, Banquo, and the family of another friend, Macduff, to be murdered. Even after Macbeth has murdered his king and achieved his goal he exclaims “To be thus is nothing;/ But to be safely thus.- Our fears in Banquo/ Stick deep” (Shakespeare 3.1.52-54) meaning that he wants to kill even more. If he would've never gotten these people killed he would've never lead himself down a path to his own demise. Just as Macbeth led himself down his own path to death Poe did as well, but Poe did it because he could not stop the deaths of his loved ones around him unlike Macbeth. As stated, “Poe was overcome by grief after the death of his beloved Virginia in 1847. While he continued to work, he suffered from poor health and struggled financially. His final days remain somewhat of a mystery” (Biography). A combination of his sadness, self harm, and addictions led him down his path to tragedy when he died of unknown
1. As we can see on page 37, when Lewis was very young, his Uncle Otis had an important effect on his life. It was showed through his “devotion to schoolwork” and general action. In my opinion, Uncle Otis saw that young Lewis had some qualities of a preacher. His appearance was so serious; Lewis often wore a tie even though some grownups teased him about that. Clearly, he was quite earnest when beginning to grow

Few authors have been able to demonstrate the incredible scope of different genres that Clive Staples Lewis, better known as C.S. Lewis, wrote in his career. Perhaps the first thing that comes to mind upon hearing his name is the mythical land of Narnia. Narnia is the fictional world that the widely popular series “The Chronicles of Narnia” takes place in. This series, enjoyed by adults and children alike, hosts talking animals, a God-like lion, an ice queen bearing many similarities to the Devil, and many other things. This series, like most of Lewis’ other works, is essentially a metaphor for the story of the Gospel as well as lessons for living a Christian life. In much of his writing, Lewis made an excellent and relatable argument for Christianity by his ability to write captivating stories relating to many aspects of Christian life.

On August 11, 2014, Robin Williams was pronounced dead in his home in Tiburon, California (Itzkoff). The official cause of death was suicide by asphyxia due to hanging. There was a pocket knife found near his body and he had several fresh cuts on his left wrist. The toxicology reports revealed that there was no evidence of illegal drugs in his system and only normal levels of prescription medication (Robin Williams Biography.com). People who suffer from this condition develop memory and language issues and experience vivid hallucinations. Some medication that is used to treat Parkinson’s disease can make the symptoms worse. Robin Williams family believes that Lewy Body Dementia was a key factor in his suicide even though there is no research provided that proves this (Robin Williams Had Lewy Body Dementia). Even though Robin Williams death was a very unfortunate event, the legacy he left behind is still present today. Just one week after his death, the National Suicide Prevention Lifeline had a fifty percent increase in calls. Also after he died, there seemed to be much more conversation about suicide. This
