Introduction I am writing a report about Theodore Roosevelt. My Essential Question is how did his life, when he was younger effect his presidential life? I am here to show you what happened during his life time. This paper will show his life from when he was little to when he was grown up along with most of his greatest achievements.
What I know
I know a couple of things about Theodore Roosevelt. He was born on October 27th. I know that when he was a child he was ill and that affected how much money his family had. I knew when he got older he went in to the navy. Fun fact, his dad and grandfather taught him how to shoot a gun. He helped the country with the Spanish-American war. He also helped with World War 1. After enduring these events he was given the Medal of Honor. He was also given the Noble Peace Prize. He fought in Texas for a while. When he was in Texas he had to train for bigger battles or wars. When he returned from Texas he was in the Battle of 1812. Once he reached a higher rank he created a communal Calvary. He also created road rangers to help with the battles. His grandfather was the one to inspire him to be in the navy. His dad taught him how to shoot a gun. That’s what sparked an interest in him and knowing he wanted to be in the navy. When he first shot a gun he felt proud and happy. After that he became an excellent hunter. In other words he was an excellent shooter. After he was in the navy he decided to stay a couple more years then leave. He ended up staying in the military for 6 years. He loved being in the navy for the adventure. He also loved being in the navy but he thought it was time to change. So he left the navy in 1818. He left so he could go into an actual career. Now he wanted to take his adventure somewhere else. He was going into a professional career. He was better leaving the navy at this
In the book Theodore Roosevelt by Louis Auchincloss, I learned a great deal about the twenty-sixth President of the United States of America. Former President T. Roosevelt made many accomplishments as president, and did not have a high number of scandals. Roosevelt did very well in keeping the peace between the different countries, which earned him many admirers and the coveted Nobel Peace Prize. Theodore Roosevelt was born on October 27, 1858 in New York City, New York in the United States. Theodore was the second child of four children in a wealthy, upper-class family. Theodore’s father was a businessman and philanthropist. Theodore’s mother was also born from an affluent family. Starting at a very early age, Theodore suffered from a heavy case of asthma and had horrible eyesight throughout his whole life. He did a lot of physical activity and developed a very strong physique. Despite physical barriers, Theodore had a very strong outlook on life and was very strong physically and mentally. Theodore was also very intelligent and he attended Harvard College and Columbia Law School.
During the Civil War, Ulysses S. Grant played a major role in the Union’s victory. He did this by: Winning multiple battles, his expertise as a leader, and defeating Robert E. Lee. Grant started his career as an officer by going through the military academy called WestPoint. After graduating as a Second Lieutenant, he made his way through the ranks in the Mexican-American War. During the Civil War, he was promoted to Brigadier General, Major General and then to Lieutenant General by President Abraham Lincoln.

Theodore Roosevelt is one of the elected presidents, and he is worth knowing because he helped establish the Children's Aid Society, he facilitated the construction of the Panama Canal and he averted a national emergency by dealing with the 1902 coal strike. Before Theodore came to be president, the position of presidency was slow and wasn’t very interesting so he made the executive branch more powerful by starting new reforms and a strong foreign policy. The life of a president is hard. It is full of stress, responsibilities, and a strong dedication the welfare of your country. Theodore Roosevelt differed from the other presidents of his time. Unlike other presidents who grew up in log cabins, Roosevelt was born in New York to a wealthy family. While he didn’t have financial struggles growing up, he did have severe health problems that impaired him in many ways. He was a sickly child with debilitating asthma that prevented him from going to school and socializing with other children his age. He was homeschooled by private tutors, which helped shape him into the independent, assertive adult he was. His bronchial asthma caused many sleepless nights and no remedies gave him a break. His parents tried to help and made him inhale the suffocating fumes of Stramonium or boiling water with aromatics in the kettle. One
By doing this he showed his love for his country, and history itself, he would do everything to the fullest. He raised his family to the best of his ability, he was a good family man, and a hard worker that endured whatever confronted him. This is why he is my hero, because of his strength and his will to make sacrifices.
