On the onset of World War II, in 1939, began Poland’s great devastation and destruction. When the German military invaded Poland, under the command of pitiless Adolph Hitler, on September 1, 1939, Poland suffered from beginning to end. Polish people were now under the control of a fascist regime. Consequently, war stricken Poland was under Nazi control from 1939-1945.
