Back then, many had their own customs and practices. Though, they did copy or take some ideas from others. These customs and practices than were either transferred or learned by others to expand their ideas. Many of the customs and practices still exist today. They could be more advanced than they were a couple years ago or when founded. In analyzing the era of the 18th century, Americans learned new customs and practices from Ancient Greece and Rome that still exist today. The americas learned many things from different places including Greece. The Greeks learned plenty in math, science, and art, the three big components. Those subjects got more advanced than they were. Though, the used as much as they learned to discover more. One thing learned from the Greeks was the alphabet. For instance, Roman architecture was “influenced” by the Greeks. Items like arches, columns, domes, vaults and much more were similar to the Greeks. Many temples and building were like Greeks aswell since they copied many of their ideas. Another would be how the Romans changed the Greek god names to Roman names. The Roman names meant the Greek ones, just in Roman. The Romana even made their own Olympic Games, it even included chariot racing that seemed to originate in Greece. (Mason 2) To summarize, Romans and Greeks influenced many of the things we have today and back then. The stuff may have advanced or changed but it originated from the Romans and Greeks. If we did not have this stuff, who knows what would our world be like. These customs and practices have been shown for years, therefore why we have a lot of them.
