Life facts of Francis Lightfoot Lee Francis Lightfoot Lee was a person who risked his life by signing the Declaration of Independence, served in the Virginia senate and, served about a decade in the house of burgess. Francis was born October 14, 1734. His only known parant was Richard Lee II. He was born in Stanford hall, Virginia. Francis had 3 older brothers who often had the same job as he did. Francis got old and soon died on his parents farm. He did in 1797. One of the major things Francis did was serve a decade in the house of burgess. This was significant because he helped make a very powerful voting block. He also helped draft a bill that allowed the residents of Virginia to pay their bills in paper dollar bills. His brother, Richard Henry Lee told him about the Declaration of Independence and how if the government finds who singed it or heard it he would kill the people. Francis cared more about others than he did about himself and chose to risk his life by singing the Declaration of Independence. In his third term he already knew he would be elected for a fourth term so he started to feel home sick so he went home to see his family. For some reason Benjamin Franklin and some of his friend sled an attack against the Lee family. It was later discovered that he invaded the house for accusations and treason. Over all on the end Francis Lightfoot Lee died of natural causes on the year 1797. Francis Lightfoot Lee was one of the best at what he did and still came around to see his family because he loved them so much. A few days before Francis Lightfoot Lee died he went and worked in his family's farm because he wanted to die with the sight of family. Once he died his wife Rebbecca died ten days later.
