Dinosaur Extinction

How would the Earth be like if dinosaurs still lived to this day and never got extinct? Sixty-five million years ago dinosaurs ruled the Earth. Earth was beautiful with nature and animals. One day an asteroid crashed on Earth an the dinosaurs and some of the animals went extinct. Many people believe in different theories, but nobody really knows what really happened to the dinosaur extinction. There are many theories but the strongest one is the theory about the asteroid crashing on Earth. My text is about how the dinosaurs went extinct.

In the first place many people have many different theories of what could have happened with the dinosaurs. Some people think the dinosaurs went extinct because of volcanoes, diseases, …show more content…

When the asteroid crashed the dinosaurs died, but some of the animals survived and escaped. There were some animals who survived during the asteroid crash. Some of this animals were: Sharks, cockroaches, birds, Platypuses, Horseshoe Crabs, Green Sea Turtles, Crocodiles and Bees. The birds escaped by flying to another country or they stayed where the asteroid crashed but was so high up that they did not go extinct. The sea animals were in the water when it crashed so they could not get hurt because it crashed on land. If it crashed in the water the sea animals would be far away. The smaller animals that survived just stayed far away and was able to live. These animals were far away enough or small enough to survive the asteroid. It was hard for the animals that survived because after the asteroid crashed the Earth became cold and dark. The Earth became colder as the winter came. After the asteroid had crashed the ice age came because the sun was covered by lots of ash and dust and that made the Earth so cold. The ice age was on Earth for a long time. During the ice age many animals almost got extinct. After a long time the Earth became a little warmer, and slowly the snow and ice was melting away. When the asteroid crashed it was hard for the animals to survive and it was also hard for them to survive the ice age. Some animals did almost go extinct. The most animals survived and lived when the ice age was …show more content…

When the solar system was created, asteroid was small pieces of rock floating around the Earth. This was about 4.6 billion years ago. When Jupiter became Jupiter, Jupiter and Mars got a gap between each other causing the small rocks (asteroids) to float around them.

Before the asteroid hit the Earth the asteroid and many asteroids were floating around space. When two asteroids are floating in different directions they can crash into each other. The asteroids then can be pushed in a new direction. That is what we think happened when the asteroid crashed into Earth.

An asteroid is a rock that orbits the sun. An asteroid can be as small as a boulder or as big as 1,000 km across. The asteroid is too small to be a planet. That is why it’s called an
