According to Encyclopaedia Britannica, Adele was raised by a single mother, constantly moving around, never had a permanent home. Adele always enjoyed singing, mainly contemporary pop music. Once she became a tennager, she realized a music career was something she wanted to pursue. At her school, they had a performing arts class which she took to help began and learn how to become better at what she was wanted to do. The first big moment that she did not realize at the time was so big, was her friend posting a video of her singing on social media, the video spread and caught the attention of many producers. After highschool, Adele was signed a contract with XL recordings. Her first album release caused her to rise to the top of the charts at #1 in Britain. After rising to the top in Britain ,she began to make her way to America by making an appearance on Saturday Night Live. Being on this show caused Adele to be introduced to American audiences and grab the attention from them. A little while after appearing on Saturday Night Live, Adele won a Grammy for best new artist and best female pop vocal performance. After releasing her album “21”, it became of the largest selling release of the year but not just the United States but also the United Kingdom. Adele has always been dedicated to her music, ever since she started listening to music when she was younger and learning to play guitar. From that, she knew a music career was the only thing she was worried about achieving. She made it look like being in the music industry was easy and never complained about it because that’s what she always wanted to do (“Adele”). Rihanna’s sexual behaviors in her videos have been talked about in negative ways for some time now, but what [eople do not understand is that it is all for fame. Celebrities will do anything to keep their career going strong. If one really took the time out to take a deep look at Rihanna, they will notice how humble she really is. After going through the abusive relationship with Chris Brown, Rihanna has struggled with gaining that strong confidence with who she is. Her critics believe that she is still trying to discover herself and figure out who she really is as a person. Rihanna is often given two choices, to do what she is being asked to do, or throw her career out the window. She either gives the crowd the sexual acts they want or let her career die down. In the song “S&M,” Rihanna was really exposing herself to the crowd, as well as “Good Girl, Gone Bad.” She is basically telling the crowd that this is the person she is, but is it really? For my original piece I will be creating a journal, expressing the feelings Rihanna felt as she overcomes her struggles.
