The Man Who Helped Change The World
Abraham Lincoln was a trustful, respectful guy who did anything to help people who came to him. Lincoln had been a very popular and famous leader during his presidency. He gave powerful speeches like the Gettysburg Address and was being followed by many people. Abe Lincoln was not only famous for being the 16th president of the United States, or for being on the $5 bill he was also famous for signing the Emancipation Proclamation, which ended slavery in the United States.
Abe Lincoln was born February 12, 1809 in Hodgenville, Kentucky U.S. as the second child in his family. About two years after Abraham was born his family moved to a farm on Knob Creek. It was difficult for him on a school day because he had to walk about two miles to get there and back. Five years later, Lincoln's dad sold their land and they eventually moved to a place in Indiana. In 1818 when Abraham was only 9 years old his mom Nancy died of a dreaded disease called the milk sickness. After his mom died, his dad married another lady …show more content…

One main accomplishment was Abraham Lincoln became the 16th president of the United States. He was always a good public speaker, he thought and cared for others instead of thinking just about himself. As a very trustful guy he was followed and was always the person that had a solution to every problem. Lincoln selected a new cabinet (a body of advisors) who were determined to represent all elements in the party when he was elected president. Since he helped many people more and more came to him when they were struggling causing many people to vote for him. January 1, 1863 Abraham Lincoln signed the Emancipation Proclamation which helped solve the problems of slaves in the North.
