House Of Fiction The answer is both due to the fact that the writer can be seen outside the house of fiction and be located inside of it too. An example being “The Tale of Genji”, where the author Murasaki Shikibu uses the idea of Genji that can be seen as just a character in the book and some can see him as an actual person. Yet that view may differ from one person point of view to another. Some would say he or she see the story in one way, while the other can have a more broad prospective to what the other individual who has read the story. So for this type of answer, we are going to look at how they can be seen inside the house, outside of it and what this response does to make a story. When a writer is seen inside the house of fiction, …show more content…
Henry James said that the human scene is “the choice of subject” and the question asked is what does it really mean. Can it be viewed as a choice of what the concept of the story will be about or how specific characters in the story play a huge role to building the main character to his or her destiny. The possibilities of the concept can be anything and the only answer it can be can only be determined by the author. If he or she wishes others to guess on it, which can be said for a lot of the stories being read …show more content…

I think that the good novelist tries to provide his reader with vivid depictions of certain crucial and abiding patterns of human existence. This he attempts to do by reducing the chaos of human experience to artistic form. And when successful he provides the reader with a fresh vision of reality. For then through the symbolic action of his characters and plot he enables the reader to share forms of experience not immediately his own. And thus the reader is able to recognize the meaning and value of the presented experience as a whole. (Kostelanetz 10)
This is another way that these works are sacred magic. The Descent of Innana is one of the first written pieces of literature we have. Sappho is one of the earliest lyric poets that we have a record of. These works are an example of the idea of the magic of writing coming to life.
Ancient world literature and early civilization stories are mostly centered on human’s relationship with higher beings. Ancient civilizations were extremely religious, holding the belief that their very lives were in the hands of their almighty god or goddess. This holds true for both the people of biblical times as well as those of the epic era. However, their stories have some differences according to cultural variation but the main structure, ideas, and themes are generally found correlative. It is hard to believe that one work did not affect the others. The first great heroic epic poem of Gilgamesh and the Old Testament are parts of two cultures that are hundreds of years apart. Whereas Gilgamesh is a myth and the book of Genesis is the basis of many religions, they both have notably similar accounts of symbols, motifs, meaningful events according to the relationship between the divine and humans in literature.
The notion of humanity is a picture intricately painted using the ideals and morals that define us as human beings in contextual society. The audience is influenced by the morals and values present through techniques in texts to paint their own image of humanity. Our ideals and morals that differ in texts through context, scrupulously shape our image of humanity
Literature has played a large role in the way we perceive the world and it can affect the way in which we think about things. Edgar Allan Poe along with Mark Twain are two of the most influential authors that our world has ever seen. Their descriptiveness and diction has had a huge impact on their readers for centuries. Poe’s gothic style of writing was very enthralling and suspenseful; it left you wanting to know what was going to happen next. Whereas, Mark Twain was a very humorous author that intended to amuse all that read. The descriptiveness that was incorporated by these world-renown authors is tremendous.
Reading a novel and ancient texts of the ancient Egyptians show how advanced they were as a black civilization. They were able to advance mentally, spiritually, and physically. Through their beliefs that of having wisdom and Maat lead them in life they were able to rise and transform from human into divinity and change the physical world around them through the power of the Word. The Husia and Heru: The Resurrection both show how these ancient texts and stories from long, long ago still have relevance to this present day, being the origin of older texts, which tells of the similar stories and ancient texts.
Most literary ghosts that occur in stories of lasting interest have to do with things besides themselves. (17)
I read Aesop’s Fables. There are a lot of stories than my expectation, some stories are famous, but I didn’t know it is a part of it, and I enjoyed to read them. This is the educational stories for children, therefore it is written by a simple languages. Additionally, each story doesn’t use message as a metaphor, but tells directly it at the end.
What motivates authors? Do their inspirations stem from external factors, or do these masters of prose derive their storylines by projecting their innermost desires onto the pages? Sigmund Freud and Carl Gustav Jung present two theories that both explore these questions and relate to Charles Dickens’ Great Expectations.
The poem, “ Spirits of the Dead”, written by Edgar Allen Poe. The important reason of the poem is because the spirits are showing a important figure by trying to get readers to see how he might feel to experience death in a strange, but interesting way. Edgar Allen Poe is trying to make the reader understand where he is coming from in the story. The important topic about this poem is to see the story as if all of this was happening to them. The poem can affect the reader by showing them how to understand the way of life and death.

Literature also gives us glimpses of much earlier ages. These glimpses take our imaginations back to the roots of our culture, in some instances. The study of Literature, through our history, enhances our understanding of our modern world.
Literature is rarely, if ever, merely a story that the author is trying to tell. It is imperative that the reader digs deep within the story to accurately analyze and understand the message the author is trying to portray. Authors tend to hide themselves in their stories. The reader can learn about the author through literary elements such as symbolism, diction, and structure. A good example of this is Robert Frost’s poems The Road Not Taken and Nothing Gold can Stay in which he uses ordinary language unlike many other poets that became more experimental (Frost, Robert. “1.”).
