God put many creatures on this earth one including horses. I actually have a horse, well actually he’s my grandpa’s but I ride him, also his name is Navajo. He’s a pinto-quarter horse. He’s not all the way broke in, meaning you can ride him, but he still bucks and kicks. He’s very gentle with children. All in all I really enjoy horses especially caring for them, I like tacking up and going for a ride, horses are really fun to feed, and to design their stalls.
As I said, I love to tack up and go for a ride. One piece of equipment that we all use if you ride horses is a bridle. In a bridle is a piece of metal called a bit, that's what you put in the horse's mouth. Personally, I don’t like bits so I use a hackamore. A hackamore is a band that goes around the horse’s mouth not in! Another piece of tack is a saddle. It is the seat part you put on the horse. There are two types of saddles, western and English. There is a piece of equipment that goes under the saddle to prevent saddle burns, and that is the saddle pad! Saddle pads, of course, come in many different shapes, sizes, colors, and patterns.

One of the most important things about caring for horses is feeding them.
There are many different types of food to feed horses. One of them being is grains. Grains are like oats and little pellets of nutrients. Hay is another good option to feed your horses. Hay is straw-like food that mimics the feeling of grass a little bit. On that note grass is another food you can feed pretty much any animal. Treats are one of the most loved snacks by all animals. One treat is a salt lick it’s a block of salt that a horse or donkey anything can lick to get nutrients. The last type of food i'm going to mention is alfalfa it comes in hay version and pellets for horses to eat. Alfalfa is for horses with sensitive
stomachs. Last of all, designing horses living situations is one of the most fun things about owning a horse to me. One very simple living situation you can use for your horse is outside. An outside living area consists of pens for all your horses, and a roof over their heads, for example an open garage could be a nice roof. Another outside choice is a pasture for your horses to roam in. One very secure way to keep your horse is investing in a barn. A barn is a building that you can keep any animal in. At night it keeps your horses warm, and during the day you can open up the doors and cool them down. In a barn, there are little pens for your horses known as stalls. This next one is not really a living situation, but riders spend a lot of their time in the arena. An arena is a place where you can take your horse and practice your moves. In conclusion, caring for horses is one of the more fun things to do, to me. Riding, feeding, and giving the horses shelter are the best things about owning a horse. If you can't afford a horse, then the next best thing I guess is a car. My car's name is nova. I think everyone should have a horse because the way you create a friendship with your furry friend.
Indian Horse is a novel by Richard Wagamese that beautifully explores the idea of family, and what it means to have people around you that make you feel at home. The reader is bombarded with an overwhelming sense of family and betrayal in the first few pages of the novel. As Richard Wagamese continues to write, one is able to see how safe Saul Indian Horse felt with his biological family, and he also shows how lost he felt without their love when he was taken to the Residential School. The school he was brought to was drained of all consensual love the moment it was open, and continued to fill the children with horrible feelings the entire time they were there. Indian Horse was unable to really feel as though he still had family while he was in the
Before you start you need to gather a saddle pad, western saddle, and a western cinch.
A competitor can choose a horse that is more for racing in order to provide a faster horse or a cutting horse that will provide more maneuverability and a smaller bend around the barrels. One ideal is to pair racing and cutting bloodlines in order to produce a horse with the ideal combination of speed and agility. The saddle is the one very important piece of equipment used in barrel racing. The saddle must be tailored to the horse and most of the time the rider chooses a saddle that is up to a full size smaller than he or she would normally use. Saddle pads and cinches must be chosen to fit the horse properly.
Depression has a major effect on a person life. The accumulation of hidden emotion could cause difficulty in life. The consequences could be irrational thinking, suffering in ceased emotion or lead to a total disaster. In “Horses of the night” by Margaret Laurence and “ Paul’s case” by Willa Cather, both authors introduce the concept of depression. Although both selections offer interesting differences, it is the similarities that are significant.
Nobody likes being uncomfortable, right? Many people stuff their feelings deep down inside themselves. A good example of this is myself, when I get frustrated, mad, or sad I don’t talk; instead, I keep all of my thoughts and feelings inside. Many times people get nervous or feel uncomfortable and push it down inside of themselves. This discomfort is just what Louise Erdrich portrays in her short story “American Horse,” through the police and social worker when they create a stressful and uncomfortable atmosphere.o This stressful and uncomfortable atmosphere is created through the house search, when Koob and Officer Brackett flirt with each other, and Koob’s sweat.*
Any good horseman should know that there are three very important steps to take into consideration when preparing to ride your horse. The following three steps; grooming, tacking up, and warming up, if done properly should lead to a trouble free enjoyable ride.
Grand champion! I was riding Fancy, a paint horse, at the Dallas County Fair in the Horsemanship class. In this class, I had to complete a pattern and it was judged on how well each horse and rider completed the pattern. The judge felt that Fancy and I performed best and awarded me with a big purple ribbon and a trophy with a horse on top. At the end of the fair, all of the grand champions were announced before the races. That was the final reward for successfully showing a horse in competitions.
For decades, Scientists have contemplated the idea of using horses for the personal gain of children and adults with needs such as autism, heart conditions, anxiety, stress, and other disorders that have yet to be curable. Horses such as Chester, a twenty year old gelding has encouraged more young riders who face difficulties such as social skills, behavior skills, and those who are physically indisposed. The phrase confidence is key, becomes important when people of all ages interact with a horse. Learning confidence may not be as easy as it sounds but is a necessary step to bond with a horse; without it, there can be no trust and most importantly, no bond between the equine and its rider.
As the ancient civilizations of the west grew their empires, they encountered something so powerful, beastly, and strong that no man could hold down with his own two bare hands, nor could they be tamed. As centuries go on, men learned the ways of the horse and learned to ride upon their backs. They found them to be a key component in transportation, carrying goods, and warfare. As time went on, for every footprint of a human left behind in the wet mud, there was a hoof print not far from the footprint. Ancient Greeks believed that the horse was a gift from the gods, and they were greatly valued in their society.

Everyone has a family member, friend, or beloved pet so sick you were not sure if they would live or die, and you find out about a new surgery procedure or medicine available to save them. Have you ever wondered where these new surgery procedures or medicines come from? When you think about all the major medical advancements over the last few decades and beyond, it has depended on animal research. As research moves into the future, we need to understand how the body works and how diseases progress. We need to find ways to treat, cure, or prevent disease and disability. The use of animal research is providing us with new technologies and medicines, which are benefiting both humans and animals in treating and extending lives.
