Recommended: How hitler rose to power

The Holocaust, genocide, the Final Solution, or World War II; it doesn't matter what you call it, nothing can make the horrific events that occurred any less terrible. From 1939 to 1945 a raging war between the Allies and Axis powers. The Allies, who were made up of the United States of America, led by President Franklin Delanor Roosevelt, the Soviet Union, led by Joseph Stalin, and Great Britain, led by Winston Churchill. The Allies were trying to defeat the Axis powers made up of Germany, led by the heinous dictator Adolf Hitler, Italy, led by Benito Mussolini, and Japan, led by Hideki Tojo. The war resulted in many casualties, many by civilians who had to part in the conflict. The events that occurred will be remembered forever in text, pictures, and in the mind of those who lived it.

Who knew a young boy from Austria would eventually become one of the most wicked and evil people in history. Adolf Hiter grew up loving art, using his talents to paint marvelous masterpieces, but then he was denied acceptance to the Vienna Academy of Fine Arts, the school of his dreams. Compelled by his strict parents, he joined the German forces to fight in World War I. He was injured multiple times in battle and hospitalized when he was blinded by tear gas. When Germany surrendered the war, the still blinded Hitler became angry and felt betrayed by the country he risked his life for. Once he had the ability to see again, he made it his goal to get Germany back to the top of the food chain.

The determined Hitler joined politics, thinking that if he could eventually work his way up and get in to power. Slowly, but surely, Adolf started to gain power in the German government. But, in 1924, he would then be sent to Lansburg Prison for eight mont...

...as the prisioners. When at the death camps, you need dust coming out of a smokestack, what the dust is, is the ashes of all those poor people cremated.

As you can see, the events of World War II are absolutly horrific. That is the reason to study, to remember, but never to forget. We want to remember those who sacraficed their lives, so we could live our lives normally and be free.The soldiers fought so we wouldn't have to. Hopefully, for generations that come with live the same life that we live today, safe and free. We learn to make sure that no matter what, that the events that happend from 1937. to 1945 never happen ever again. Forget, we may not, but learn from it, we shall. The fourty seven million that lives were taken from them will never be forgotten. The war affected everyones' mind, lifestyle, and morals. This time period will forever live in infamy.
