The hoodie is 50% Cotton - Cotton is natural in the sense that the cotton plant grows the cotton fibers. Cotton is soft, absorbent and breathable, strong, tough and not afraid to get its fibers dirty. You can rely on it to last a long time and not fall apart on the first wear and/or wash. Since cotton is breathable and doesn’t retain odors like oil-based fabrics. This means that clothes made from cotton don't need to be washed after every single wear so that can help your clothes last even longer. And 50% Polyester - Polyester is man made in a chemical process from substances extracted from oil. Polyester fabrics and fibers are incredibly strong, durable and resistent to wrinkles. Polyester withstands wear and tear longer and retains its shape even in harsh climates. I think that using a mix of heavy blended (as it says on the tag) polyester (50%) and cotton (50%) was definitely the best choice on the manufacturer's behalf as it is very practical and functional for the type of garment it is.Another type of fabric that they could have used could have been: Sweatshirt fleece which has jersey fabric on one side and fleece on the other. If they chose to make it out of sweatshirt fleece they would have had to make sure that was a light-medium fleece and wasn’t a heavy weight fleece as it would be bulky and would make the hoodie tight and may not have enough stretch. I think that the blend of …show more content…
For my project I will be doing a hoodie quite similar to this existing one. I will improve the design by making it fit better to me and using a different material. Although I do like what it is made of I feel like it sometimes feels a little bit heavy, especially on warmer days. I will fix this by using a fabric that is more lightweight and maybe thinner. By making a change in the type of fabric I think it would actually make it more comfortable. Although I doubt choosing a fabric that is more lightweight would be warmer, it would be improved because it would be much more comfortable and easier to layer. Apart from that design modification I don’t really think I would make any other drastic changes to it. Something that could be added to improve the design could be adding a zip down the front of the hoodie. By adding a zip down the front that means that me as the wear would be able to unzip the front of it instead of taking the whole thing off. This would improve the hoodie because sometimes when I’m wearing it I get too hot and then when I take it off I get too cold so if it had a zip I would just be able to unzip it to get more air near my body to cool me down but still stay warm. The best parts of this existing hoodie would be the style of it since its slightly oversized, the hood and the screen print on the back. The worst parts would be the

In a cardigan or a crew neck. this model is just another model. Once upon a time there was a little sweet and innocent girl. Everyone who saw her always greeted her and she never thought of anything else, but to greet back. Her grandmother and mother always told her that if someone was being nice to you then you should always be nice back. She believed in what her mother and grandmother always told her, because she wanted to make them proud and happy. Her grandmother always gave her presents of some sort. One day her grandmother gave her a red moredale quilted coat. She loved it so much that everyone called her Little Red Riding Coat.
The Jewish people faced endless horrors during the Holocaust. One of the horrors they experienced was the ghettos. A ghetto was a specified neighborhood where all Jewish people were required to live. The ghettos were not meant to be permanent residences, instead, they were meant to be a middle ground between freedom and concentration camps. Life inside the ghettos was appalling. Death and disease were rampant, and the possibility of deportation was a constant fear. The Institute for Jewish Research explains the atrocious living conditions inside the ghettos best saying, “Overcrowding, lack of sanitary infrastructure, and poor building standards took a toll upon the physical state of ghetto residents.” By withholding adequate infrastructure and forcing
In order to have a successful collaborative management in the workplace, you must first define what makes up a successful collaborative management. Collaboration, communication, and teamwork are three key elements that make up collaborative management. Then we will compare will both public and private managers to identify if there are any similarities among the two organizations. This paper will look into Jane Fountains (2013) report “Implementing Cross-Agency Collaboration: A Guide for Federal Managers,” to identify collaboration and Rosemary O’Leary and Nidhi Vij (2012) essay “Collaborative Public Management: Where Have We Been and Where Are We Going?” essay on their views and conclusion regarding collaboration to ultimately
Southeastern University is a private, Co-ed, Christian university. SEU’s main focus is to equip their students to be a next generation of leaders so that they can enter the real world as influential servants to their careers and communities. Southeastern university offers a plentiful amount of study programs, even the program I am interested in which is Human services. I selected this school First because it is a Christian college, and Second because of the programs of study. I chose to go to a Christian college because I grew up in a Christian household and because I believe in Jesus. I also chose Southeastern University because of the programs of study. SEU was one of the few colleges that had a program of study that I was interested in.
This article is about the overall impacts of fast fashion. The particular section referenced discusses possible solutions and alternatives to fast fashion. It talks about how it is possible to produce environmentally friendly clothing through the use of organic cotton, bamboo, hemp, and other fiber crops that require less pesticides, water, and other inputs. It goes on to share how certain brands are beginning to implement the model of sustainable clothing. The point of this article is to introduce readers to the topic of fast fashion, give background, and show readers what they
Many, many things that we wear, sleep on, sleep under, walk on, or utilize in wound-care, etc., contain some percentage of cotton. It is a fiber that is used everyday, by everyone, in one way or another. It has qualities that have made it a choice crop for centuries around the world. Today though, cotton is being largely displaced by synthetic fibers that have qualities that exceed the natural crop plant. These fibers can also be mass-produced and sold at relatively lower costs.
According to global industry analyst, the world sports clothing industry is anticipated to exceed $126 billion by 2015, Because of more active lifestyle, with older demographics and woman becoming more energetic, this drives the market. The entire sports clothing industry is highly filled with so many brands like Nike, Adidas, Umbro and Reebook all over the world competing, even the high leading brands have to work twice has hard in other to keep their share in the market because most of this small firm have quality products and also a very fine marketing style which has increased competing style in the industry. All over the world people demand more versatile wear, which indicates that’s retailers continue to produce new style of sports clothing for both men and women.
That can lead to the water stress and pollution. Cotton is one of the common natural fibers and it is also a thirsty crop, to produce one cotton shirt it takes 2,700 liters of water which is enough amount of water for one person to drink 2 ½ years (3p Contributor., 2015). The chemical wastages from chemical dye and bleaches that produce from the factory, and carbon footprint such as polyester production which can lead to climate change. Given that amount of water wastage, I feel that people should opt for sustainable fashion clothes. Most people may be hesitant to try something so novel, so green. Therefore, I feel the fashion house should educate the public about the many benefits of sustainable fashion
Fabrics can be made of natural and synthetic materials. Natural fabrics, like cotton (NY Fashion Center) for example, are found here on earth while synthetic fabrics are manmade (MV Styles). There are many distinguish ways to determine if a fabric is natural or synthetic. Each fabric is different in its own way due to it reaction to heat, its odor, residue and chemicals (MV Styles). Fabrics are seen and used every day and in every way. Synthetic material has been pushed more into the picture because it much easier to make and the cheapest to buy. Synthetic materials are sometimes made form fossil fuels like coal. Cotton and Broadcloth are natural fabrics; Polyester is synthetic and Flannel in a synthetic blend with cotton. Fabrics are made up of fibers which have their own chemical structure, which determines their classification. Polymers make up the fibers (Ball-Deslich and Funkhouser). Since cotton is natural, it comes from a natural cellulose fiber with the polymer of glucose (Cotton). Polyester is synthetic which can be classified as saturated or u...
