When is lying okay? According to the article, “Honestly, Tell the Truth,” by Barbara Billinger argues that lying is not okay and that you should tell the truth, no matter what situation you’re in. I agree with the author Barbara explains to us that we should always tell the truth and not lie in anyway, and to always be honest.
The reason I agree with the statement is because telling the truth and being honest is much more accurate than telling a lie. Lying can cause you many trouble and can lose trust from someone that really trust you. If someone loses trust in you it will take time for them to trust you again. Once you tell a lie to someone you are really close to they would not believe one word you say. It’s always a good option to tell the truth instead of lying to someone you really trust.
Many teenagers tell many lies to their parents. Sometimes telling lies to your parents are sometimes okay, but overall lying isn’t the right thing to do. Teens come up with many lies to tell their parents. If their son or daughter gets home late, they already have an excuse like, “ I asked my friend for a ride, but she was doing something important, so I had to wait for her until she was finished.” Their parents would believe what they had told them and not get them in trouble because they …show more content…

There has been many accidents just by saying one simple lie. For example, if you tell your parent, you will be at your friend’s house, but you end up going somewhere else you weren’t supposed to go. If you end up getting into a really bad situation or get hurt, your parents wouldn’t know because you had told them you will be at your friend’s house, so they think you are safe but your really not safe. Their parents will find out they are hurt or they are in danger unless someone informs them they are in a bad situation.
