The bell rings; you’re sitting in a hard plastic chair, looking up at the teacher, she is passing back your latest test. Carefully, she sets it upside down on your cold wooden desk, and shakes her head. Carefully you reach out and snatch the paper; in red ink, written enormously, was the letter E. The only thought that raced through your mind was “I should have done my homework.” The homework given to students is helpful and effective for learning and developing knowledge, which aids the students to score better on tests. Learning to work independently is another great benefit of doing your homework as. However, some people view it as stressful.
The homework given to students provides a great way for them to learn independence. Since students complete homework, it teaches the students how to problem solve and figure the questions out by themselves. When the students are preadolescent, they may require some help to stay on task with close observation and support; while in elementary school, praising the actions of independence is essential. Furthermore, they should receive a reward for their independence because it is very important to maintain for the rest of their lives. The amount of homework may be quite large occasionally, especially in high school, so it can be overwhelming at first glance. However, managing your time wisely and being responsible will not cause stress. For example, when I started freshman year, I received homework in every class for a week. At first it seemed like it would take forever. However, I began the assignments and each worksheet only took me 15 minutes to complete. All the stress was gone.
