Homeostasis is used by every organism to be able to survive in a certain environment. This happens because the organism needs to adapt to the certain conditions that the environment is exposing, but if the organism fails to adapt it may can lead to death. The system sends alerts through the nervous, electrical circuits, and hormonal system.
The process of homeostasis is very important for the human body as it needs to be changing through a daily basis. For example, when the human body sweats, it is an involuntary response to heat. The system alerts the body to take action to prevent overheating and to cool it down as soon as possible. This reaction is when the pores open up and the person begins to sweat to let all that heat out the body.
This can work vice versa as it works when the body is cold too it begins to shiver and create movement to create heat and warm the body up. Our body does involuntary things because homeostasis is programmed to adapt to the situation. Homeostasis does involuntary things to help the organism adapt and be safe. The body must also defend itself against invaders such as infections or viruses. Homeostasis brings balance to the body by ridding the body of these pathogens and a major point in this process is the use of calcium. Human’s bodies pump charged particles through special chambers, changing the charge in the cell to cause a signal. This signal opens or closes other chambers to allow particles into the cell. It can be easily compared to an on or off switch from a light. Maintain homeostasis is vital to every organism on earth. Without this tendency to find and maintain perfect equilibrium despite modifications to outside and inside stimuli, no organism would be able to adapt and survive the conditions of planet earth.
