The government is, and must be, responsible for providing homes to the homeless in the city of Toronto as it is increasing day by day significantly. The main causes of homelessness are unaffordable housing, inadequate public assistance and an undeveloped housing system. The government is focusing on bringing people to the city of Toronto instead of settling already living people and adjusting to them. Failure of many public institutions is also a cause of homelessness, about 150,000 to 300,000 people faced homelessness in 2023 in Canada and the number is significantly increasing in 2024.At this stage homelessness is a big issue for Canada and poverty is the main cause for that. Some people encounter obstacles in their lives and end up living on streets as the government has also failed to develop an affirmative action plan to deal with homelessness. It has been observed that homelessness has increased for about 20% since 2023 in 2024 and about 112,780 refugee claimants entered Canada in 2023. Homelessness had a major impact on Canada's history and had been the main subject of action till that time and is still not solved. It has been observed that despite homelessness, people also experience poor health, nutrition problems and drug addiction. Homelessness has taken in about a ton of million people around the world and the number is greater in Toronto.
