Homeless Veterans Argumentative Essay

“To care for those who shall have borne the battle, and for his widow and his Orphan” These words spoken by Abraham Lincoln were a commitment for all veterans.
Homeless veterans make up 33 % of the U.S. population. Considering the sacrifices made and the risks taken by veterans - caring for them is a small price to in return for our freedom. If veteran’s had not fought for this country, America would not be free today.
I pledge to uphold Lincoln’s promise by participating encouraging veterans and their families. When a veteran’s family is having struggles because of family changes, finances, health, or other struggles, the U.S. citizens should step in and help show support. Some veterans have been homeless. We need to provide them with shelter,

water, and food. Other veterans’ lives were sacrificed and risked. If they did not fight for this country, we would not be free today. Veterans have been here for us every time we have needed them. In return, we need to be here for them.
Consider what a veteran feels after all of the work done to ensure our protection and freedom. Veterans should feel proud and appreciated.The veterans have been there for us every time we have needed them. In return, we need to be here for them.
The soldiers in active war and on duty at home or abroad, also need to be cared for. Some of these men and women, have had parts of their bodies blown off by bombs. We need to care for them by helping them reestablish their strength. We also, need to show them the medical attention they need. Don’t you agree? We must construct objects that can replace these body parts that have been destroyed. We need to also support their families who are worried about their well being.
Families of veteran’s also need support. They worry about the veterans’ well being, and they too sacrifice not seeing their family member because of military service.
In conclusion, the promise made by Lincoln was constructed in favor of helping the veterans. I believe that the only possible way to uphold this promise, is to follow through with the points and opinions I stated in this essay. This promise shall be a priority of all U.S. citizens. I will secure my chunk, by participating in any way to help The veterans and their families.
