The problem im trying to solve is this, you going to any kind of big city and seeing the streets littered with homeless people. Walking down the street and seeing many homeless asking and begging for money, and rarely food. While these people might make excuses on how it happened, it doesn't really matter anymore, what matters now is that they are currently homeless. Now imagine You’re walking through some big city with a large homeless population and you see these people suffering and you want to take pity on these people while some are here because of bad luck, while others are where they are now because of many things like drugs, greed, or already living in poverty.
Here now I shall tell you my solution to help these people but also help
I am writing to inform you of the current homeless situation in Australia and how we solve fix it.
Principally, to a homeless person, if there was only one thing they hated, it would be pity. The only way society at this point knows how to deal with the homeless is by pitying them. They take the individuals and they put them in a group basically labeled “displaced”, then it is expected that it is up to the state to help them. Many say they try, but because homelessness deals on such a personal level, many don’t get helped because they are grouped. On the personal level, when one sees a homeless person, many, if not most people, shy away thinking that “someone else will help them”. In most cases, they are ignored. Because everyone is thinking this way, not many local homeless people get assistance. In this country, homelessness is one of the last issues to be thought of, which is why the homeless population is now flooding into small cities and towns. Homelessness should be combatted one person at a time and not as a group. I agree that everyone needs to pitch in and help rehumanize these lifeless souls, and with everyone’s help, it can be done on a personal level.
Seeing people that is homeless in Houston is a heart breaking situation to see so many people that are homeless. I make several trips to Houston off of 288 to the medical center I see homeless men that holds up signs asking for help out themselves or their family. On several different occasion that I have went into a fast food place and bought food and went and give it to them instead of giving them money. I am wrong for doing that instead of giving the money. I just have thought about if I give them money will they go get food or drugs with it; I asked myself should I be like that or not. Homeless individuals are known for taking hand outs and they prefer to plead for money rather than to go work for it. People assume most of the the money that is given to homeless people they spend it on drugs and alcohol because of the fact that many homeless people have drug and alcohol addictions. Homelessness in America is almost an epidemic. There are millions of people in the United States alone who suffer from homelessness, meaning they are without, a roof over their head at night, and without food. If a teenager failed their driving exam would they still get a driver’s license? No, because if he did he would be a danger to himself and to others around him. It is the same thing with a child who cannot learn the basic building blocks of English, math, and science. This child will not be able to comprehend the advanced concepts learned in the next grade if he cannot even understand the material from the previous grade. Also he would be a hindrance to the class because he would slow his classmates down with his lack of knowledge causing the teacher to have to explain everything to him. The advancement to the next grade without passing the previous grade will not only hurt the child’s self-esteem and basic education foundation, but also cause him to be a nuisance to his classmates.
Growing up, I was very fortunate to have hard-working, loving, and supporting parents who provided my sister and I with a good life. A good life to me means having a roof over our head, meals everyday, an allowance for our basic needs, and family trips every so often. When I was young, canned food drives were a prevalent act of “charity”. It was common to see that if a person donated, that person had a good heart and had cared for the less fortunate, however there was a distinct amount of canned food donated by each class. Classes with teachers who gave extra credit to those who donated had more cans than their counterpart. It only seemed to make sense, it encouraged the audience to contribute in order to receive. Today's world is filled with both great tragedy and abundant joy. In a densely populated metropolis like New York City, on a quick walk down a street you encounter homeless people walking among the most prosperous. Unfortunately, nine times out of ten the prosperous person will trudge straight past the one in need without a second thought. A serious problem arises when this happens continually. The problem worsens when you enter a different neighborhood and the well-to-do are far from sight. Many neighborhoods are inhabited only by the most hopeless of poverty - ridden people while others downtown or across the park do not care, or are glad to be separated from them. Such is the problem in New York City today and in Mott Haven in Jonathan Kozol's Amazing Grace.I have lived in New York City all my life and I had no idea that these problems were going on so close to home. If I live about three miles away from Mott Haven and I am not aware of the situation there, then who is?
