Pain, suffering, hurt, and lies make up our daily lives. They consume us. They keep us captive. They beat us down until we think we can never get up. They make us depressed and anxious. They make us want to do horrible things to ourselves and others. Some of us know these pains and lies a little too well. But we no longer need to be consumed by them. There is hope. While we are always surrounded by the lies and the hurt of this world, we don't have to be consumed by it. There's a better way to live. A life full of joy, peace, and love. There is more. There is a life of Jesus. The world is constantly telling us that we'll never be good enough, and we'll never be able to get out of the situations we're in. They tell us we're nothing and …show more content…
He died for us. 3 days after Jesus's death He was resurrected! He defeated the grave! He did it to save us! Hallelujah! Then Jesus gave us the Holy Spirit that lives within us whenever we accept God into our hearts the Holy Spirit comes into us. The Holy Spirit gives us direction, hope, joy, and peace as we walk through this world, the Holy Spirit is God in us. Jesus died to save us from this world and with the Holy spirit we are never alone. But to have the Holy Spirit, the goodness of God, to be saved from this world, we must first accept Him. We have to admit that we are sinners and we need to be saved from this world. We have to want Jesus to be a part of our lives and be willing to follow him no matter where it will lead. Then we must believe that Jesus is who he said he is and want him because he provided us with love, peace, joy, hope, strength, and understanding. Then we must commit our lives to serving the Lord so we can live a life for him -- a life that's truly worth living. If you truly want to follow Jesus, have this change in your heart, pray. Pray and ask that God changes you from the inside out and makes you anew. If you truly pray this, He will. If you do this, reach out to someone you trust and tell them, they will help you walk in your new found journey with
Give glory to your son, so that your son may glorify you… so that he many give eternal life to all you gave him” (John 17:1-2). He continues, “I consecrate myself for them, so that they also may be consecrated in truth,” (John 17:19). Jesus’ prayer is to bring us into perfection with God, for us to know him, and understand his love for us. This is achieved through God’s loving sacrifice as evidenced in John 3:16, “For God so loved the world that he gave his only Son, so that everyone who believes in him might not perish but might have eternal life”. Opposite from the notion that we must sacrifice our first born sons for God, God sacrifices his son for us. This is made reality in the passion and suffering of
In order to become a Christian, one must accept the presence of God as our savior and provider of eternal life. Christians must acknowledge God’s divine nature as the mere entity of human redemption. According to Diffey (2014), the acknowledgement of God’s existence provides wisdom and fear which enforces Christians to love and obey God through the existence of three persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit simply means God is spiritually present in our life. Because God spoke and created the world he is considered the “Father” of
The Spirit helps us implore (Romans 8:26-27). He gives us new life (John 3:3-6). He is our consoler, and he helps us comprehend God's statement (John 14:26). He lifts up Christ (John 15:26). He convicts us of wrongdoing (John 16:7-11). He helps us to live holy lives (Romans 15:16). He gives us love, happiness, peace, tolerance, thoughtfulness, goodness, faithfulness, tenderness and self-control (Galatians 5:22-23). He helps us share our confidence (Acts 1:8). What's more, he lives inside us (Romans
The Holy Spirit will never leave or forsake us, it helps believers understand Christ’s teachings and it gives us the fruits of the Spirit. Through the help of the Holy Spirit, Jesus came down from Heaven. this is one of the major beliefs stated in the Nicene Creed. The actual quote states: “By the power of the Holy Spirit he was born of the Virgin Mary, and became man.” This is significant to Catholic’s because Jesus was the first and only God on Earth. Additionally, the Holy Spirit is a guide throughout life, it is a pure spirit and it will never leave or forsake use, as it will assist us to understand Christ’s
...st through the reading of God’s Word start to understand out to look through the lens of God for our lives and others. This shows us we are in need of a relationship and not a religion. The Bible teaches us and shows us we need not to get cleaned up to come to Jesus, but come to Jesus and the Cross to get cleaned up. His arms are always wide open.
He carries with Him the transcendence that comes only with God Himself. Therefore, His work on our behalf makes our salvation sure. Jesus, the God-man, has atoned for our sins. We can place our confidence in Him because of His divine nature” (7). This is the ultimate application of the gospel of John. John is a book that Christians need to read and gather as much information out of it as possible to share with others who do not believe in or have not heard of Jesus. The applications written in this book are for all to hear and for all to reap the benefits of. Jesus is the only one who can save humanity from the sin that we have brought upon ourselves in which the consequence is death. Jesus died on the cross so that we would not have to pay for our sins. God sacrificed His one and only son so that we may live eternally with Him in Heaven. According to the lesson on John, the Holy Spirit empowers Christians to provide the gospel message to others and share the love of Christ (Lesson 7.23.3). We are to allow the Holy Spirit to guide our actions so that the Lord might save as many as
of manipulation can not only be found in the personal lives of many believers, but
Pain, suffering, poverty, disease, anguish, and many other forms of negativity are aspects of our lives that are as necessary as they are unfortunate. If we couldn’t feel pain, we wouldn’t know how to appreciate all of the ways we have been blessed. In an absence of suffering we could never know what bliss is. Without disease and anguish we would never search for answers and cures so that others would not share a similar fate. Pain in the world I feel is greatly unappreciated. Suffering and its’ kind is generally viewed as negative but without it one could never have a hero, there would be no charity for the needy, and no one could feel compassion for the ill.
No one comes to the Father except through me" (John 14:6 ESV). Jesus Christ recognized that He is our salvation and that He is God. It is very important to understand this, because if Jesus Christ was not God, christians would be in trouble. All of the believers in Christ would still be dealing with sinful nature and their own sins. However, many times through the Old Testament Jesus Christ's coming into this world was propheciesed and time and time again those prophecies were proven to be true in the New Testament.

Luke shares that as Jesus began his ministry, he was filled with the power of the Holy Spirit (Lk 4:14). Although rejected by many, the Holy Spirit assisted Jesus in his teaching in the synagogues, healing of the sick, and deliverance of the possessed.
Most Christians know that when Jesus was here on earth he taught, preached and talked about the Holy Spirit. Also when Jesus was resurrected and went to see the disciples, he promised them of another power to come to comfort them and to help guide them through their everyday lives. This promise was that of the Holy Spirit, to come not only as a comforter but as a teacher and a guide. This guide would lead believers in the ways that Jesus lived. We see this in the first chapter of Acts where Jesus tells the disciples that they will receive power from on high and through the Holy Spirit, they will go out and witness not only to him and Jerusalem but to the outermost parts of the Earth.
• The Holy Spirit is the spirit of love that dwells in each and every last one of us, it is not a part of the body so if the body dies, the spirit will continue to live. Because love never dies.
According to Hutchison (2015), “religion is symbolic patterns that consists of values, beliefs, behaviors and experiences” (p. 184). I personal conceptualize spirituality as a vital role in my life that helps me during a time of sickness, forgiveness, and needed guidance. Spirituality helps guide me throughout life during the difficult times I have encountered. Spirituality impacts my life in positive ways that influence and regulate my behavior and health. Health is very important to me; I believe the spirit can heal a person from their sickness. It seems that the spirit heals me every time I pray to be healed from sickness. The spirit gives me strength at a time of weakness. When I feel at my lowest point in life I call on the spirit to pick
