Over the course of the 1921 and 22 seasons, the Packers underwent a transformation where they replaced most of their local talent with players from big-time colleges or other pro teams. As a result, they were highly competitive on the field from the beginning and, in turn, able to establish a firm foothold within the league. “In 1927, when the NFL decided to cut its franchises almost in half and eliminate many of its smaller cities, Green Bay survived ,Then before the 1929 season, They hit the jackpot.”While the Packers were in the process of winning the 1931 championship, they also were blindsided by what could have been a Disastrous event. “In their second game against the Brooklyn Dodgers, a local fan, Willard J. Bent, injured his back when a section of bleachers at city stadium collapsed, and he fell nearly 10 feet to the ground”,he sued them for 5,000 dollars .On April 3, 1956, voters approved a referendum to fund the construction of the stadium. “It was dedicated on Sept. 29, 1957, and called new City Stadium until it was renamed Lambeau Field in 1965.””On Blackbourn’s watch, the Packers also drafted Forrest Gregg, Bart Starr, Paul Hornung, Jim Taylor and Ray Nitschke, all future Pro Football Hall of Famers.”McLean lasted one season. He submitted his resignation under fire on Dec. 17, 1958, following a 1-10-1 finish, the worst in Packers
The current trend in baseball park construction is a retro design, reminiscent of the early years, combined with modern technology. This trend, dubbed “The Construction Era” by Frank Deford of Sports Illustrated, is prominent in three new American League parks: Oriole Park at Camden Yards, Jacobs Field, and The Ballpark at Arlington. The current idea for ballpark construction is to locate the retro style parks in the heart of urban areas. The whole movement was initiated by the construction of Oriole Park at Camden Yards, and it’s radical new design concept.
The building and naming of Fenway Park goes back to 1912 with the help of John Taylor. Fenway Park was built by a wealthy man named John Taylor. He was the owner of the Boston Braves at the time and needed a ballpark to play in while the Boston Braves' was under construction. He found a small piece of land called "The Fens" at the time and decided it would be perfect, "The new ballpark was constructed for the 1912 season and was named by then Red Sox owner John I. Taylor. He demanded that it was time for the University to build a new field house that could seat many more fans (Collett 13). Fundraisers began to take place, led by alumni and current students. Finally in November of 1950, a brand new five thousand seven hundred seated field house was built (Collett 13). The team kept on bringing in more wins and more fans, and the field house was filled every night (Collett 13). This was the beginning of a new dynasty for the University of Dayton Flyer’s Men’s Basketball program.

Prior to the current stadium, the Cowboys’ home was one of the most recognizable professional sports stadiums of its time. According to Stadiums of Pro Football, “Texas Stadium, seated nearly 66,000 fans and was known for its partial roof where weather conditions could play a factor in each game,” (Page 1). Stated in the official Irving, Texas fact sheet pertaining to Texas Stadium “the stadium was constructed at a cost of 35 million and lasted from its opening date in 1971 until it was closed in December of 2008,” (Page 2). On February 6, 2016, I had the privilege of being a chaperone for Byron Elementary School 5th grade class in Byron, Georgia on a trip to Washington D.C. However, when the students and I began to tour the different memorial sites at in Washington D.C. we came across a lot of sculptures, but the one sculpture that I felt was amazing was the Marine Corps Memorial. The Marine Corps statue was designed in honor of the men and women that served in the Marines during World War II, who gave their lives to protect the United States during the war since 1775 (Marines, 2016). The sculpture is known as the Iwo Jima Memorial, which we visited outside of the Arlington National Cemetery, which is located in the Arlington Ridge Park. The sculpture is adjacent to the Potomac River from Washington D.C.
The New York Giants are one of the oldest football teams in the National Football League’s (NFL) history. The NFL was founded in 1922 and the Giants joined the league shortly after it started, in 1925(Citation). The team was bought by Tim Mara, only four years after another team in New York failed, for only $500 (Citation). The Giants were a huge part of what kept the NFL alive, because the NFL needed a big market team(Citation). The Giants proved to be just what the NFL needed and this was proved when they played the Chicago Bears in New York(Citation). The two teams played two games against each other, winning game each, but the most important factor was the 70,000 fans that came
For example, Bill Miller says “ Fenway Park, Boston-1912” (Miller, Chart, 2013). That means that Fenway Park is the oldest ballpark still used today. What comes with baseball stadiums are there dimensions. There are bigger ballparks and smaller ballparks. As well as the ballparks in general ballparks have additional things as well. They have concessions and restaurants. They also have store that you can shop at for that team. For instance, Carly Szkaradnik says “For a good taste of Pittsburgh, stroll down the stretch from the right field gate to home plate for options including iconic Primanti Bros.” (Szkaradnik, Paragraph 5, 2015). With these examples and information about ballparks, people can insist that players and the audience love stadiums because they have the assets that people love.
AT&T Stadium (formerly known as Cowboys Stadium) was introduced to the world on May 27, 2009, when country singer and Texas-own George Strait performed in front of 60,188 fans. A few months later, on September 20th, and 4 years to the day after the stadium ground was broken, the Cowboys played their first regular season game versus the New York Giants. The attendance on this historic night was 105,121. Although AT&T Stadium’s listed capacity is 80,000 people, the standing room only areas on the east and west side of the stadium referred to as Party Passes ($29) gives the stadium the potential to hold up to 105,000.
