History: The Rise And Fall Of The Walt Disney Company

The Walt Disney Company was a leader in animation, because he had Techno color and new ideas for the time being of entertainment. Disney's company makes all their money from theme parks, movies, tv shows and animations. With all the advertisement Disney has brought in a lot of money. The Walt Disney company had nothing then, one's dream is now a living empire.

Walt Disney was born in Chicago and started his career as a starting cartoonist (History.com Staff,2009). A co-owned company in Kansas City went bankrupt. Walt was depressed. Laugh-O-Gram Films is where Walt and his friend had made the animations. The Disney brothers had a few thousand dollars which they borrowed. Threw all that work, they now have an empire Walt Disney Company. The Walt Disney Company makes their money on theme parks, record labels, film studios, cruise line, radio networks, and publishing. They make about 34 billion a year. Because of their development, they are still famous for Mickey Mouse, their animated character (Bodden, V,2009).

On the 18th of November 1928 in New York City at the Colony Theater Steamboat Willie, a character Disney spent a lot of time and effort on had a shortly premiered.

The film was so popular with the audience that it then opened all over the country and the world. Mickey Mouse was a success that it made money in the Walt Disney Studio in 1920. One of Disney's risk that was worth it was Steamboat Willie. Steamboat Willie was a huge money saver. (Nardo D,N.D). Mickey Mouse saved Disney from being bankrupt.Since Mickey has been alive he had a lot of changes including eyes, clothes, size, and shape of himself (Schroeder, R. n.d.). Mickeys body shape had changed in the 1930s. He had become rounder and had more of an

expression.
One of Disney's productions Cinderella was released in 1950. The audience loved Disney's films so much that they would wait till the next one came out.About 6 years after Cinderella was realized it became a big hit and the most love films in the 1950s. Walt Disney's first fully animated film, he had a risky take by putting 1.5 million on it.The risk had paid off because he had brought in a big profit during the Great Depression. Cinderella was picked because it was so close to Snow White. Cinderella was a story from Brothers Grimm fairy tales.60 years after the film the audience still loved it and it made a list of “America’s 10 Greatest Films in 10 Classic Genres” (History.com Staff,2009).
Disney could constructed a place to make new animations. The first animated film that was in Technicolor and English which was Snow White, it was very popular to the public (Schroeder, R. n.d.). To make Pinocchio look as real as possible the animators or people that drew him used a 3D model . Throughout the year Disney's animated film Pinocchio was starting to become more popular. It wasn't real popular when it was first released. The animators took real living animal put them in a room and drew them in there natural habitat to make it look as real as possible. At the time of the war, a song that Jiminy Cricket sang When you wish upon a star was a sign/statement of hope (Schroeder, R. n.d.).
