I think music has a way of explaining something or telling a story. Music can bring up happy times, it can also bring up sad times as well. Certain songs can remind someone of troubling issues from a past, can be the reminder of someone you have lost, it can also be a reminder of many happy times; such as weddings, high school dances, or even just hanging out with friends in the back

Since the earliest days of human civilization music has been a key tool for communication of stories which carried emotions through them. If we think back to our youngest years of life music has surrounded us whether it was from our parents singing us lullabies or from some sort of toy that played music we can say that musical melodies have helped shape or lives one way or another. Once we start growing up and figuring out who we are our musical preferences change; some people like classical and some like punk. We start to befriend people who like the same music as us and eventually we may attend a musical event. Our lives somewhat revolve around the music that we listen to.
As the semester comes to a close, I take this opportunity to look back on what I have learned in this class. Since I was young boy, hip-hop has been a huge part of my life. Through the best and worst times, music has always been an escape me. It is an honor to write an essay about my favorite genre of music and to explore and compare hip-hop in American and around the world. In this essay, I will guide you and explain how this genre of music has spread internationally and has become a global sensation.
It is true that music has a compact link to our emotions. Music assists people to overcome the bad situations in their life, just like it did for Sonny, the barmaid, or some other people in the Harlem. Music has a tremendous effect on people’s minds because it makes them feel relaxed and comfortable, especially with the soft classical music. It helps distressed people stay smooth and peaceful. In fact, music is a remarkable way to ease stress.
No matter what you listen to, music has a way to “play with our emotions”. For example, if you listen to Tchaikovsky (classical) you may feel calm, and if you listen to Eminem (rap) you may feel hyper. If the music you listen to makes you feel good, it is good for you, Daniel Levitin, a Neuroscientist who focuses mainly on music, explains in an interview.
Throughout my life, music has always been a major influence. It has the power to change my mood when I'm feeling down, but the thing I find most intriguing about music is that it doesn't always end up improving your mood: like all forms of art, it imitates life, which is not always portrayed in a positive light. The musicians that I admire most have the versatility to induce several different emotional responses in the same piece. This quality is present in most of the wide variety of music I listen to, from Russian composer Dmiti Shostakovich, to Chicago jazz band Tortoise, to California pop/rock sextet Mr. Bungle.
For as along as I can remember loving music I can remember being fascinated by rap and hip-hop, even from a very early age. I don’t know what it is about both rap and hip-hop that makes kids love it and parents hate it, but before diving into that both terms need to be properly defined. While often synonymous with one another, the two may share a few similarities but for the most part vary greatly. Lets start with hip-hop, which was described by KRS-One and Marley Mar in their song Hip Hop Lives as, "Hip and Hop is more than music, Hip is the knowledge, Hop is the movement Hip and Hop is intelligent movement,” (lyrics to Hip Hop Lives). What this means to me is that hip-hop is something that is constantly evolving and changing to meet popular
Having music in your life is very important. Music is one of the most powerful things in the world today. Many people make a lot of money making music because of its popularity. It may not be the same genre of music, but everybody likes it. Personally music helps me from day to day. When I am stressed I listen to it to calm me down. When I am sad I listen to it to make me happy. When my spirit is down I listen to gospel to bring it back up. Without music I do not know what I would do. I believe that there is music for every person and problem they may have. It helps me, and I know it will help

Pop is played the most on the radio today, but that’s because our taste in music changed over the years. Most teens nowadays like upbeat fun music to listen to, but everyone has different taste of music. Without the music back then we wouldn’t have the music we have to this day, music is a very important part of
Since the 1980s hip-hop has influenced the world greatly. Artists like Tupac and Biggie have helped make hip-hop the mainstream phenomena it is today.
