Choosing a topic was not hard at all for writting project three because it was something that I could personally relate to. It seems all the prompts are something that students can relate to in some degree. I felt like I had a lot to say about the topic because I experience the effects of high school testing. I experienced the bad habits of relying too much on my memory and procrastinating. It was easy to describe the effects because I felt passionate about the issue. I hate that I was never tested on idea where I had to use critical thinking, but I tried making the paper unbiased by adding a couple sources that had opposite views as me. I think I balanced it fine and was still able to express the issue.
The writing process was frustrating. This was due to the fact that my interview was not done yet when I started writing my paper, First, I wrote a paper that seemed to be a very long explanation about how high school does not prepare students for college, it was biased and it seemed more like a rant rather than an essay. It was not a formal interview and instead it was more like casual talking. The majority of what I learned about education came from this interview. I learned that I should not hate high school for testing me on memorized facts because facts are essential to learn. I learned that students need to take responsibilities for their actions and when they notice they are not doing well they need to change their ways to improve in that area. The main idea I learned was that the problems with education do not arise from solely one person, but they come from many people and are related to other issues too.
