High school is the biggest grade like elementary and middle school.High school have classrooms that can fit up to fifty students in them. They also have humongous desk where someone overweight can fit easily. When the teachers put students into groups they put up to 20 students in each group, and in middle school there is about 10 people in a group. The hallways are so huge you can hear your echo when you whisper.Another fact about high school
Every person has different personalities that they develop during different stages in life. Many personalities start with parents and how they educate their children. That is the basis of who someone is. Once you get older you start to finally try and figure out who you are. High school can be either the best or the worst place to figure it out. High school is usually thought of a new scary place when starting freshmen year. There are kids who will be older and you will meet different types of people that you might have never met before. The way parents treat their kids can affect their school life. Meaning that if student’s lives at home are not good living conditions that can cause a gap between other students at school. The movie Carrie made in 1976, Carrie was bullied at school but also in way by the hands of her mother who also bullied her at home.
Making the transition from middle school to high school is a huge stepping stone in a teenager’s life. High school represents both the ending of a childhood and the beginning of adulthood. It’s a rite of passage and often many teens have the wrong impression when beginning this passage. Most began high school with learning the last thing on their mind. They come in looking for a story like adventure and have a false sense of reality created through fabricated movie plots acted out by fictional characters. In all actuality high school is nothing like you see in movies, television shows, or what you read about in magazines.
Have you ever wondered if you will like high school? There are goods and bads about going to high school.I will name the relationships,schoolwork/homework,and clubs.
High school and middle school have many similarities, as well as differences. A few similarities would be that in each level of education, there are eight periods in a school day. In both middle school and high school you have access to a computer. Both schools have M.A.P. testing in the spring and fall.
Making a decision for the future can be hard, but it can be even harder when people are torn between their passions and meeting other’s expectations. In today’s generation, most students are expected to have their career chosen by the time they are out of High School. They are trained to plan and map out their entire lives. Yet, college students still end up having an undecided major by the time they start their freshman year in college. A huge issue that is present in today’s society is that college students chose their major for the wrong reasons. Parents pressure students to pursue careers in business, medicine, politics, and law; however, unless practiced with passion, those careers are pointless.
While our reality of high school is not remotely similar to Mean Girls, Clueless, or the Breakfast Club, we can turn those realities into our own.
High school should offer more information about what to expect and how to plan your high school experience upon entering high school. Schools, in general, should be making a much bigger deal about it and offer more information from the start. When a student goes into the ninth g...
High school is supposed to be a one more step closer to college; it’s supposed to be preparing you for the future right? Wrong. My experience in high school was very different; I never quite fit in with anyone, the “friends” that I thought that I had used me for money. Let’s just say when I was a freshman I had a friend whom I knew from grade school, her name was Meghan Lawrence and she was the kind of person who I really believed I could tell her anything and she would keep it to herself. Once again I was proven wrong, I developed a crush on a boy and she knew that I had a crush on him; one morning before class both he and she went to the corner store, she thought it would be funny to tell him all about my crush, which he tortured me with, playing with my emotions, made me feel like he might actually like me back.
High school is a crucial part in many people’s life. It is a time for people to grow, develop, and transition into adulthood. I am a firm believer in the idea that situations are what a person makes of them and I believe that I have created a great experience in my three years of high school. My experiences throughout sports have shaped me to become the person I am today. Throughout high school I have learned a lot about, not only myself, but also about my friends and family. I have experienced many things that I only thought happened in high school drama movies. The best years of our lives are quickly coming to an end. I’m not good with metaphors and all that figurative language stuff but I am semi-good at one thing, that is running long distance. High school is like competing in a cross-country race, shy and timid at first, but by the end people will see my true colors as I am crossing the finish line.
One way to compare and contrast high school life and college life is to look at the differences between high school teachers and college professors. High school teachers verbally explain what is expected throughout the duration of the semester. College professors give a syllabus which covers assignments and conduct. Taking class attendance is also done differently. Attendance is expected in high school with parent and administration approving any absences. In college, attendance is expected but students are solely responsible for attending classes. Another way to compare and contrast the two is to look at the teaching styles and methods. High school teachers teach from the textbook giving little if any notes at all. College professors teach lecture style requiring a great deal of note taking.
High school, is coming up in about three ish months and I’m kinda excited, but scared. I expect high school to be a enjoyable four years, but also a challenging four years. I’ve always hoped that high school was going to be like it was in the movies; Grease, The Duff, or Ferris Bueller's Day Off… How awesome would it be to go to a high school like in all of these movies, don't lie it would be so much fun!
As of today, people have generally realized that the high school role is very similar to the college role and they both play a large aspect in the generalization of modern day school. Therefore, when a student decides to choose a school, the method is long and very tedious. They acknowledge every class offered and every sport available along with every extracurricular activity. However, a lot may compare and contrast high school with college. The aspects they grasp on people is not a secret and very important. Anyhow, the methods used to educate these students are very similar to each other although the differences are great such as the facilities they occupy and the extracurricular activities each offer. The academic courses vary in smaller
I should receive a passing grade in this class because I can write now. Not just an exaggeration, but after another semester of English I finally feel confident that can write. Three of the reasons behind my confidence is I learned, I experienced and best of all I repeated. These three values helped prepare me for what is in store in English 1302 and here is why.
High school, as well as college, is just another part of our lives. But in order to go to college, we have to go through the agonizing four years of high school. In those four years, we experience loads of homework, trying to choose classes with friends, and the minuscule amount of freedom that is given. College is similar to when it comes to all the homework, choosing classes, and sometimes not being trusted. But they are still different in many ways. High school and college have many differences but similarities as well.
High school is a lot like a marathon. Students start out at the beginning and when the whistle blows runners are on their way. Just like high school it's the beginning and the end. Students start off 9th grade just starting to become an adult it is the beginning. And as you get into 10th, 11th, and 12th grade you grow slowly, and after school has taught you everything, if you decided to take that opportunity they send you into the real world. Here are some of the biggest differences from middle school to High school for most students anyway.
