Have you ever had your future all laid out for you? Everything was going to go your way, and happen perfectly. Your plan would lead you to success, but then disaster strikes. You’re walking across the street, then life hits you with a 10,000 pound truck. You’re put into a coma, and don’t wake up for a whole year. Missing out on a lot of important things in your plan that transpired… Well, that didn’t exactly happen to my hero, but it’s basically the same principle. He lined up 14 yards back just like he was supposed to. He got ready in his stance, ready to receive the snap. He catches the snap, brings it down to his drop table, takes his steps, lets go of the ball, and punts it. As he watches the ball fly, he feels a sharp, shooting pain in his groin area, near his kicking leg. He collapses, and gets carried off the field. After he gets off the field, the trainer looks at it and diagnoses him with a torn hip flexor. His season was over, and so were the college offers. His future, gone.
This stopped ben dead in his tracks for some time. He was mad at what God had done to him. He questioned God as to why he had done this. He was mad that all of his scholarship offers had disappeared. This showed in his everyday life. Jamie Kohl noticed this and told him to stop being such a brat and get over it. So, Ben listened to his advice, and kept on with his life.

He also moved to Vegas to spend all his money and follow through with his plan to kill himself. I think Ben was interested in killing himself which, he stated on multiple occasions in the film. He also refused treatment. For example, Ben told Sera his girlfriend in the movie, to never ask him to stop drinking. However, Sera did ask him later in the film to see doctor. Ben became upset and threatened to leave Sera, when she asked him to see a doctor. Ben eventually died at the end which, I think was a result of the alcoholism. Today I am going to talk to you about a book that involves Greek and Roman mythology, called The Lost Hero by Rick Riordan. The Lost Hero is the first book in the Heroes of Olympus series. Rick Riordan has written many books and is the creator of the Percy Jackson series. The Heroes of Olympus is a sequel to the first series Percy Jackson and The Olympians. Therefore, it has new characters in addition to most of the old characters. You may be wondering who is the “lost hero” that the title refers to. On page 31 the reader finds out two things.
