Becoming a god does not sound that hard, right? Hercules enters a world he does not know where he has to test his limits and fight creatures he may have never heard of to try and become a god. You will learn the three phases all people must go through to become a hero and Hercules’s journey through them. Will he ever become a god?
In the departure phase of a hero’s journey, as outlined by Joseph Campbell. The hero realizes there is something different about himself. There is also a call to the adventure or the reason why the hero leave, which he sometimes refuse and sometimes accept. In the movie Hercules, Hercules is much stronger and faster than any man. He keeps making a fool of himself and he does not understand why he is so different than anyone else. The reason for his leaving was to find out he was or who he was meant to be. He finds his father and finds out he was meant to be a god until something bad happened. He accepts the call by going to become a god.

In the initiation the hero enters a new world he/she had never been to before.
In this new world he may find helpers, supernatural aid, a talisman, or a temptress. The hero will also have tests and battles to fight against shadows and tricksters. In Hercules, Hercules finds a helper named Phil, who helps train him to be a god. Which is not that easy as hercules tries to rush through the phases. Another thing Hercules gets is a supernatural aid, which is a pegasus that his father got for him as a gift when he was young boy. Battles he comes against is with a creature who grows new heads when one is cut off, and a big battle with Hades. These battles test him and show him if he really is god
material. In the return the hero will get a reward (if he/she wins). The hero will than be the master of two worlds; his/hers and the one he just won. In Hercules, Hercules saves Meg from death and defeats Hades. Him saving Meg and the world from destruction made Hercules become a god. I believe his reward is becoming a god and getting to be with Meg. The three phases heros must go through we're departure where the hero is different, Initiation where the hero takes the battle, and the return were the hero is rewarded. Hercules had to go through all these phases. Heros fight through each one of these phases and try to become a hero to his/her world. Do you believe you could become a hero?
...heir journeys or overcome their limitations had it not been for the gods. Of all of the requirements of heroism, being influenced by the gods is the most important. Only through the aid of the gods can a character defeat his shortcomings and truly understand what a hero is. The character must become overconfident and prideful, then, and only then, can the gods step in and break their faults. Finally, the hero either comes to realize how wrong he was or he dies in ignorance.
Although the heroic journey of Odysseus and Luke Skywalker resemble one another with similar heroic steps, the difference in Odysseus’s journey distinguish him as the exemplary epic hero.
In the Hero’s journey, The Odyssey, the main protagonist, Odysseus, changes in a way which helps him gain self-knowledge. Odysseus ' experiences transformed his personality from how he was in the beginning to the end, by leading him through a heroic journey, also known as a quest. The real reason for a quest never involves the stated reason, and this is no different with Odysseus. As the story developed, many of Odysseus’ sides were exposed through the challenges he faced. Out of the countless dangers and obstacles every step back home, him and his crew have only acquired minimal character changes. Even though they are minimal, they are those which take many decades to achieve.
Hercules of 1997 got put together by one of the popular Disney directors, Ron Clements and John Musker. Their earlier works include “The Little Mermaid,” “Aladdin,” and “The Great Mouse Detective,” which were movies that were astoundingly successful Disney movies that almost everyone enjoyed watching. Hercules without a doubt is one of my top Disney favourite movies, because of its really pop and melodious songs, and its simple yet very intricate plotline.
The Hero’s Journey is an ancient archetype that we find throughout our modern life and also, in the world of literature.Whether metaphorical or real, the journey that a character goes on shows not only the incredible transformation of the hero but it also gives them their life meaning. It is the ultimate human experience and it reflects on every aspect of life. Take Logan, also known as Wolverine, from the X-Men movie as an example. His adventure starts with “The Call,” which is the first step of the Hero’s Journey. This step happens due to the realization of imbalance and injustice that the character has in their life. Logan steps into the first stage of the pattern but is hesitant to start his adventure because he does not know what and
In “ The Odyssey ” by homer Odysseus goes on a journey to get home after twenty years the trojan war. The “ Hero’s Journey “ by Joseph Campbell represents the journey the hero's take on their journey as a hole in the story. The main parts of most stories include twelve parts to the hero's journey and some additional points.. The three parts of the hero's journey supernatural aid, test and supreme ordeal , and reward and journey home. These are some of the most important parts of the odyssey.
Despite his fame, strength, bravery, and the killing of the Hydra, it’s still not enough to win him a seat among the Gods in the Disney movie. In the myth Hercules rewards for all his heroic acts and is deemed worthy of becoming a god.
Hercules demonstrates one trait of a classical hero by asking for or accepting assistance from other characters throughout the story. Two of his most obvious moments of assistance were when he asks the King of Thebes for his twelve tasks and when he needs help during the search for one of Hera’s treasures. He asks King Eurystheus to aid him in creating twelve tasks to make up for his misfortune in murdering his wife and family while driven mad by Hera, the king gave Hercules the twelve labours. He then asked for help during one of his labours: retrieving the Golden Apples of Hera. Hercules sent Atlas to find the Apples while he held up the sky for him....
Hercules was an astonishing hero of Greek mythology, as well as the most famous. More stories were told about him than any other hero. Greek and Romans alike built temples to worship Hercules long after he was gone, and told of his great labors. There were many different versions of the stories of Hercules’s life, but that was mostly between Greek and Roman storytellers.(The Life and times of Hercules.)
5) Hercules shows being a nice caring guy, that seeks society’s acceptance and his father’s approval. What people think of him affect his mood and attitude. He is the type of guy that most girls would want. Head over heels in love, sacrificed his strength and power for the girl. Then, he risked his life to rescue Megara’s soul from the underworld, since she died temporarily. He gave up everything for love. He influenced me to believe that even though we might be going through some rough times and difficulties, we should never give up no matter what, to just keep
Since Hercules was sentenced to many labors and accomplished the almost impossible tasks it’s safe to say that he is one of the bravest heroes. When Hercules was a child the goddess Hera was very jealous of Hercules Hera was jealous because Zeus cheated on her many times with mortal women to pass on his great genes to offspring and the more offspring Zeus had the better off Greece would be. Hercules was born because Zeus had an affair with another women name Alcmene or Hercules’s mother. So Hera sent two snakes into Hercules’s room when he was an infant to kill him but Hercules grabbed the snakes by the head and killed them. Also on his labors he defeated the Hydra, Nemean Lion, and the man killing Stymphalian Birds. In all of those labors Hercules showed a tremendous amount of bravery, because most mortals couldn’t even come close to these creatures or they would be killed. Fortunately for Hercules his adventurous personality, this helped him with the many adventures that he had to face.
I think that Heracles best known as Hercules, is an epic hero. You may be asking WHY? well for me the answer is pretty easy he is a really strong Demigod. According to the Greek Mythology " Hercules is Best know as the strongest of all mortals and even stronger than many gods." He was the last mortal son of Zeus and the only man born of a mortal women to become a god upon his death. It was said that Hercules was a really strong Hero, that Hercules had a complicated family, and he was a great warrior. Hercules was the most famous hero of the ancients times there are more stories told about him then any other hero, Hercules was worshiped in many temples in Greece and Rome. But Hercules just like anyone else had problems and he made
1. Who was Hercules? Hercules was half man and half god. Hercules was a hero amongst the greeks and romans, widely known for his 12 tasks.
Jason is known for retrieving the Golden Fleece while Hercules is remembered for his 12 labors. Jason traveled to mysterious locations and received aid from two gods: Athena and Hermes. In addition to the help from Phineus, Jason returned with the glory of the Golden Fleece. He returned to his home to become the rightful king of Lolcus. Similarly, Hercules was also a special hero. He was a demigod who had superhuman strength. After murdering his family, Hercules was sentenced to twelve very dangerous labors. After Hercules died, he was considered as one of the greatest heroes in Greek Mythology.
